It’s Time to Shine Like A Star…That’s right it’s General Claims time! Be the Star You
are…support General Claims today! We will climax on November 29th.
We have set the goal of Feeding 8000 during the Thanksgiving season. Each Sunday in
October, everyone is asked to bring Cans of Cranberry sauce to support this effort. See
the bulletin for details. Let us continue to make a sacrifice to help others with our food
and monetary donations.
Lay Day will be observed today, October 11, 2015.
Who are the Willing Workers ? Would I like being a Willing Worker for Christ ? Come
out to Lunch and Learn Fellowship following the 11am service today. This invitation is
for new members, as well as others who are still wondering.
See the bulletin for scheduled dance rehearsals and recruitment information for other
boards and auxillaries. We have ministries for all ages.
Pastor Williams and the Williams Memorial Church Family will render service at Hoyt
Memorial CME Church in Burlington, NC; where the Pastor is Rev. Dr. William Pegues,
on Sunday, October 18th at 3:00 PM. Please see bulletin for sign up and dinner information.
The Children’s Choir will celebrate their 23rd Anniversary on Sunday, October 25th,
during the 11 AM service. Rehearsals are Friday, October 16th and Tuesday, October 20th
at 6:00 PM.
Children’s Church Teachers, Ministers and support staff will meet Tuesday, October
20th at 6:00 PM. We will discuss direction for Children’s Church, lesson planning and
selection of new teaching materials. Please reply with any agenda items. Any other
interested in being a part of this ministry are welcomed to attend.
Keith Jackson is starting a Williams Memorial Drumline. All interested in joining may see
Keith Jackson, Jadirius McCoy, Jarvis Hough, Alexis Pegues or call the church to leave
contact information.
C.Y.F. is signing up volunteers to assist with the 2015 Special Olympics of North
Carolina. Volunteers are needed on Saturday November 7, 2015 from 3-9pm. The event
will be held at Oak Hollow Mall, the old JC Penny’s location. Transportation will not be
provided. Please sign up at the Welcome Desk. Deadline for signing up is October 18,
2015. See you there!

The Men of Williams Memorial will serve breakfast at the Open Door Shelter on
Saturday, October 24th. All men are asked to be at the shelter by 6:15 AM.
To all Boards and Auxiliaries: The “Who Got Next?” Challenge to provide snack
coverage each month for our Children’s Church participants is in full swing! Your help is
critical to this mission! The request is simple: See the details in the bulletin and sign up
today.
Please help us give GOD the HIGHEST Praise through Fellowship, Fun and Food. On
Saturday, October 31, 2015 from 4:30pm to 6:30pm in Fellowship Hall and the North
Parking lot, the Young Adult Fellowship (YAF) will be sponsoring HALLELUJAH FUN
NIGHT featuring the 2nd Annual TRUNK OR TREAT for our Williams Memorial
Children and Family. All who plan to attend are asked to sign up at the Welcome Desk so
we can plan adequately. All who are willing and would like to use your vehicle
please SIGN UP at the welcome desk and pick up an Instruction Package for
Trunkers. CANDY AND MONETARY DONATIONS ARE ACCEPTED. See the

The 2016 Connectional Youth and Young Adult Conference will take place July 11 - 15,
2016 in Memphis, TN. Parents of youth(Age 12-17) and Young Adults who are interested
in attending please see the bulletin for important registration deadline and “Excellence
Point” system information.
MLK DAY OF SERVICE, JANUARY 18, 2016. High Point University is partnering with
our community. They are coordinating various service projects that are on campus, and
open to the High Point community, students, faculty and staff. For more information pick
up a form at the welcome desk.
The Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Oratorical Scholarship Award. All 2016
GRADUATING HIGH SCHOOL SENIORS please pick up a MLK Jr. Scholarship
Application and guidelines at the welcome desk. Deadline to turn in application is
November 13, 2015. Presented by the Minister’s Conference of High Point, NC and
Vicinity.
Congratulations to Stacey Simone Spencer! She is recognized as a Department of Lay
Ministry Graham-Webb-Kennedy Scholar. Stacey was named the 2015-2016 scholarship
recipient from the Seventh Episcopal District of the Christian Methodist Episcopal Church.
Stacey is the daughter of Thomas & Rev. Niki Spencer, granddaughter of Annie Scarboro,
sister of Stephany and Starr Spencer, niece of Pam Legette.

Congratulations to Sam Sanders (Multi-Sport Athletes) and Saundra “San” HarrisonReeves (Track) who will be inducted into the T. W. Andrews High School Athletic Hall of
Fame Class of 2015. An induction ceremony will be held on October 15th, 6 PM at Oak
View Baptist Church. They will also be honored on October 16th during halftime at the T.
W. Andrews High School Football game. Sam Sanders is the husband of Tammy Sanders,
father of Tamara, Brian and Sam Sanders, Jr., and son of Versie Sanders, brother of
Jacquelene (Maurice) McCollum. Saundra Harrison-Reeves is the niece of Rev. Jewel
Anthony and Troy (Carol) Anthony, Sr. and sister of Ted Anthony.
Our very own Jarvis Hough (Drum Major & Tuba), Derek Little II (Trumpet) and Alexis
Pegues (Cymbals) perform with the TW Andrews Marching Band will be in competition
on the postponed date; Sunday, October 25th, 3 PM at Dudley High School. Advance
tickets are $13. Please contact Misty Little for tickets. A portion of pre-sale tickets assist
Andrews Marching Band to attend Nationals in Memphis, TN.
