ARTICULATION AGREEMENT for transfer of credits between Nicolet Area Technical College Individualized Technical Skills Associate of Applied Science Degree (AAS) and University of Wisconsin-Superior Interdisciplinary Studies Bachelor of Science/Arts Degree Effective Dates: January 2013 - December 2016 Review Date: June 2016 Introduction and Rationale: The University of Wisconsin-Superior maintains an educational partnership with the Wisconsin Technical Colleges to provide opportunities for students to enter bachelor’s degree completion programs. In the interest of fostering cooperation between our institutions, and to better serve the transfer of students from Wisconsin Technical Colleges to the University of WisconsinSuperior, the faculty and administration of our institutions have established this articulation agreement. This Agreement specifies the transfer of credit from Nicolet Area Technical College (Nicolet College) to the UW-Superior Bachelor’s Degree named above in recognition that Nicolet College prepares students for admission to this Bachelor’s degree program. The underlying assumption for this Agreement is that the technical college provides a foundation of coursework, accesses the rigor of continuing education courses to credit course (continuing education to credit), and also applies sound practices of assessing credit for prior learning, and the University provides the upper-level courses required within the Bachelor’s degree program. Nicolet College students who have obtained an Individualized Technical Skills Associate of Applied Science Degree and wish to transfer to the University of Wisconsin-Superior will could be awarded a maximum of 72 credits which consist of general education courses, liberal arts courses identified in the University of Wisconsin System Transfer Information System (TIS), and a maximum of 24 specialized technical studies credits which will could be applied as elective and/or emphasis credits toward a Bachelor’s of Science or Arts degree in Interdisciplinary Studies. Additionally, Nicolet College students who have obtained an Individualized Technical Skills Associate of Applied Science Degree may further petition request the University of WisconsinSuperior for the award acceptance of credits that were not transferable as outlined above. Requirements: All UW-Superior general education core and knowledge category requirements not met by transfer credits must be completed. A minimum of 30 credits must be earned at UW-Superior as well as a minimum of 36 upper division credits in order to be awarded a bachelor’s degree from UW-Superior. Students must maintain earn a 2.0/4.0 grade point average in upper division courses to be eligible for the bachelor’s degree named above. Conditions: The terms of this articulation agreement apply only for the purposes of entry to the Bachelor of Science or Arts Degree in Interdisciplinary Studies at the University of Wisconsin-Superior. Nicolet College students seeking admission to other degree programs offered at UW-Superior may transfer to the University only those credits recognized under the current UW SystemTransfer Guidelines as documented on the Transfer Information System web site at http://www.uwsa.edu/tis/. This agreement is limited to University requirements for completion of a Bachelor’s degree only. Students seeking certification for licensure in particular fields must complete any additional requirements for such certification.
