Compost Fund Request Form
The Compost Fund will cover 50% of the additional cost of having compostable service ware at
events of 150 people or more. The host department for the event must cover the remaining 50%.
In an effort to distribute the funds to as many departments as possible, the maximum amount any
single department will be able to receive during a fiscal year is $1,500. Request must be made at

☐ An email prior to the event

☐ Signs at compost bins
☐ An announcement at the event
☐ Provide volunteers to monitor bins*
* If everything at the event is compostable there is no need for monitors. However, if there are
any non-compostable items provided at the event, you are required to have volunteers monitor
compost bins (too much trash in a compost bin means it will all go to the landfill). An Office of
Sustainability staff member can help train volunteers on what goes where. Typically this can be
done in 15 minutes. Would you like help from an Office of Sustainability staff member to train
volunteers before the event? (check one):
☐YES
☐ NO
