-Look for a pattern
-Make a list
-Make a table
-What math manipulatives can you use
-Think about what the question is
asking you
3. SOLVE
4. COMMUNICATE
-Use your strategy to solve the problem -Write a clear conclusion sentence
answering the question
-Your strategy may not work,
you may need to try a different strategy -Use math language in your answer
-Show your work using pictures,
numbers or words
-Ask yourself if your answer makes
sense
-Consider how to go beyond the
question
