He will provide patient care in Springfield and direct the department’s residency program. Shad previously worked as associate professor of psychiatry at the University of Texas Medical School at Houston, Texas Medical Center (2010-12) and as assistant professor of psychiatry at the University of Texas Southwestern at Dallas (2004-10) and the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine in Pennsylvania (2000-04). Some highlights? – see below and attached CV.] Shad earned a master’s degree in clinical sciences from the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center at Dallas (2007) and medical degree from Sind Medical College at the University of Karachi, Pakistan (1983). He received his premedical degree at Sind Government College in Karachi (1975). Shad is certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology. He is the author of more than 35 peer-reviewed articles and book chapters on schizophrenia, neurobiology and other research interests.
