ICU Mobile Twin Cities South is a non-profit pro-life mobile medical facility. We operate from a renovated RV furnished with an ultrasound, exam table, and flat screen TV for viewing ultrasounds. Our mission is GO to women who are at the crossroads of decision—providing and referring them to physical, emotional, and spiritual resources necessary to make the choice for life. Volunteer Opportunities Please email icumobiletc.ed@gmail.com for a volunteer application. PUBLIC RELATIONS/MARKETING 1. Design Posters a. ED will work alongside volunteer providing instructions about purpose of posters, branding and logo images, and templates (if needed). b. Email posters to ED (icumobiletc.ed@gmail.com) for approval before printing and distribution 2. Distribute Posters a. Create list of businesses, churches, stores, schools, and other organizations (esp. other charity organizations which serve a similar population of people) to distribute posters i. Email list to ED for approval and record keeping before distribution b. Ask for permission when necessary before hanging up posters c. Whenever possible, make a connection with the business or store owner/organization leader/church or school secretary when hanging up posters. Offer them a brief summary about Image Clear Ultrasound and what services we offer to the community. Find out what services they offer (if they offer services) or how they serve the community. Build a relationship—they may be a valuable resource for Image Clear Ultrasound when referring clients. i. Record summary of connections made and report to ED 3. Newsletter Assistant a. Assist ED with process of sending quarterly newsletter b. Tasks include: i. Addressing and stamping envelopes ii. Placing return address labels on envelopes iii. Placing mailing labels on insert donation envelope iv. Stuffing envelopes 4. Video Designer a. Film and edit videos for fundraisers and promotion (i.e. for baby bottle campaign, banquets, etc.) i. Contact ED to learn about video purpose and information to be included ii. Update ED of progress weekly iii. Share final video with ED FUNDRAISING 1. Baby Bottle Campaign a. Baby bottles are filled with change, checks, or cash and returned at a designated time and location b. Baby bottles usually distributed at churches, but other organizations (i.e. Boy Scout troops, clubs, teams, schools, etc.) are great as well! c. Ask for approval at desired distribution location and find out how many baby bottles are needed d. Inform ED of number of bottles needed; plan time and place to pick them up e. Volunteer is the spokesperson for our organization i. Share flyer provided by ED to group describing our organization ii. Explain the baby bottle procedure (write down name and email/phone number (if applicable) of each person who takes a bottle; they will fill with change, checks or cash; state location and date [approx. 3 weeks later] for bottle return; cross name off list when bottle is returned.) iii. Personally (or with helpers) hand out baby bottles if in appropriate setting (i.e. school classroom—to encourage participation from those who may not grab a bottle on the way out the door). For churches, it may be best to inform congregation of where they can pick up the bottles after the service. iv. Write down name and email/phone number of people those who took a baby bottle. (Or they can write down their own info on a sheet of paper, which you can oversee). Contact information may vary depending on setting (likely not email address if handing out baby bottles at elementary school; maybe phone number, but likely just their names in this setting) v. Contact people who have not returned bottles at designated time in a respectful manner (without nagging); if desired, ED can provide email template for requesting bottles to be returned. (it will likely take a couple weeks beyond the due date to collect the bottles, as people often miss church services or meetings, or they simply forget) f. Sort bottle contents into money, change, and checks for easy deposit g. Schedule time with ED to return sorted change/checks/cash with the emptied bottles 2. Fundraiser Assistant a. Help brainstorm ideas for a fundraiser or help with pre-determined fundraiser b. Work alongside ED or fundraiser coordinator, assisting as needed c. Areas needing assistance may include but are not limited to the following: i. Finding and confirming location to host fundraiser ii. Creating list of necessary supplies (i.e. food, decorations, donation forms, silent auction items, etc.) and services (i.e. speaker, musicians, caterers, etc.) iii. Identifying and contacting resources (when possible, seek out businesses [usually small, privately owned] which may donate items or services; inform them about our organization and the services that we offer to the community and ask if willing to donate or offer discount) iv. Creating and sending out invitations to previous donors, churches, etc. v. Creating and distributing flyers; other marketing as needed vi. Carrying out fundraiser (buying supplies, setting up, hosting event, tearing down) vii. Sending thank you cards to those who donated items, volunteered time, provided services, donated money at fundraiser, etc. 3. Fundraiser Coordinator Job Specific Qualifications: a. Be a committed Christian who demonstrates a personal relationship with Jesus Christ and is committed to protecting the dignity of human life b. Demonstrate decision-making, problem-solving, planning, and implementation skills c. Able to carry out duties with little or no supervision; dependable, self-starter, mature, responsible d. Exhibit excellent administrative and organizational skills General Duties: a. Work with fundraiser assistant(s) to brainstorm fundraiser ideas and receive approval from ED to begin the planning process b. Provide frequent progress reports to ED c. Allocate responsibilities to fundraiser assistant(s); find additional volunteers as needed (ED will help with locating volunteer fundraiser assistants if needed) d. Client Advocate (must be 18 or older) Position Summary: Client Advocates are responsible for the education, emotional support, and assistance of clients on our mobile. This position is under the supervision of the Executive Director and Nurse Manager. Training is provided. Job Specific Qualifications: a. b. c. d. Willingness to serve. Effective interpersonal communication skills, especially in oral communication. Effective listening skills. Completion of training in client support, which includes reading the volunteer handbook, instructional time with the Executive Director or Nurse Manager, and shadowing time with trained volunteers. General Duties: a. Greet clients and complete intake forms relevant to client needs. Provide emotional support in a pleasant and nonjudgmental tone. Maintain a pleasant and courteous voice with clients, offering assistance, especially to abortionvulnerable clients. b. Assist clients with completing pregnancy tests. c. Familiarize yourself with referral files and be able to efficiently give information to clients. Provide education and referrals related to adoption, post-abortion healing, social services, and other areas of need. Training provided. d. Provide education and guidance in the areas of abstinence, secondary virginity, contraception, STDs, fetal development and abortion. Training provided. e. As the Lord leads, pray with clients and discuss their spiritual relationships, encouraging them to seek an active relationship with Jesus Christ. f. Update Assessment Forms, intake sheets, and other forms in client files. g. Attend volunteer training meetings semi-annually, increasing knowledge of client support and services offered. h. Complete other relevant duties as assigned by staff and volunteers. MEDICAL 1. Ultrasonographer Objectives: The Ultrasonographer provides ultrasounds under the supervision of the Nurse Manager Reports to: Nurse Manager Qualifications: a. Be a committed Christian who demonstrates a personal relationship with Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord. b. Exhibit strong commitment and dedication to the sanctity of all human life c. Exhibit strong commitment and dedication to sexual purity d. Agree with and be willing to uphold the Statement of Faith, Statement of Principle, and the policies of the center. e. Be licensed and certified as an ultrasound technician. f. Have a bachelor or master’s degree in nursing or equivalent experience. g. Be certified to provide limited obstetrical ultrasounds. h. Exhibit strong interpersonal and administrative skills. Responsibilities: a. Provide ultrasounds according to medical standards of care. b. Provide patient pregnancy counseling, education, and referrals. c. Document clinical findings, observations, and medical care in patient record. d. Review any clinical findings indicating concern for the viability of the pregnancy or the health of the mother with the Nurse Manager. Continuing Education a. Comply with state and professional continuing education requirements. b. Annual review of CPR, center policies and procedures, and infection control regulations. MOBILE MAINTENANCE 1. Pit Crew Member Position Summary: This position will perform and coordinate logistics, supply, and general maintenance and transportation activities for the Mobile. Job Specific Qualifications: a. Knowledge of and experience with operating systems, components, and driving RV’s b. Demonstrated decision-making, problem-solving, planning, and implementation skills c. Demonstrated maturity, stability and confidentiality resulting in the ability to carry out responsibilities with minimal supervision. d. Desire to learn new skills as technology advances e. If driving RV: Holds current and valid driver’s license with DMV inquiry stating no outstanding issues, warrants or DUI’s f. If driving RV: Holds current and valid vehicle insurance in the state General Duties: a. Oversee and perform the planned, scheduled maintenance of the mobile (fill tires to appropriate air pressure, drive RV to shop to change oil and fill propane, fill water tank, empty waste tanks, fill with gas, wash RV, etc.) b. Perform related duties as assigned or as the situation dictates c. Ensure that mobile complies with all local, state, and federal requirements d. Review Policy and Procedures relative to mobile management and maintenance and review annually e. Ensure that all maintenance paperwork, receipts, mileage, and forms are gathered and provided to Executive Director f. Participate in In-Service Trainings, as relevant g. Report to Executive Director when maintenance and check-ups of RV have been completed h. Optional - May drive the mobile to service locations or special event locations Responsibilities are divided among the pit crew team.
