Medieval manslaughter! The Sun rose over the castle. People were peacefully starting to awaken. A sudden breeze of warmth flew through the air towards them. A while later an unexpected shadow overlooked the castle. The beast had teeth as sharp as blades with a huge puddle of blood sat inside its mouth! As the villagers fled from the scene, the blood-eyed dragon knelt down and scoffed all the villages’ food down his scaly throat. Running towards his daughter Elizabeth’s bedroom, the king was ready to keep the princess locked up and safe. He ran down to the knights that he had been training and bellowed, “We need to take drastic action against this dragon, he stole all our food and goodness knows what he’ll do next. Put the bridge that goes over the moat down, NOW!” Sneakily tiptoeing over the hills towards the castle, the dragon was planning how he would capture Princess Elizabeth. He had an idea, he would fly up towards the very top turret were her room was and crash through the window and go into her room. So that was exactly what he did, he captured the princess and took her back to his cave. Once they’d got back to where the ferocious beast lived, he decided to eat the princess straight away as he was fed up of her whining all the time. Meanwhile back at the castle, the king was freaking out ordering his guards around to protect the rest of the village for him. He also gave instructions to his most trusted knight Alfred to find the dragon, kill it and save the princess Elizabeth. So off Alfred went. He was sprinting as fast as his legs could go and in no time he had reached the dragons cave. The dragon met him at the cave’s opening and stood up to the brave knight. With one breath of fire aimed at Alfred, all of his shining armour was burnt into tiny little shreds on the floor. He was infuriated with the colossal monster and in the end said “That’s it I’m fed up!” Then with one huge swipe of his sword, he stabbed the dragon through the heart! Alfred the knight had defeated the dragon all by himself and saved the princess. Well that’s what he thought… Alfred was wondering around the dark and gloomy cave trying to find Princess Elizabeth. A pained screech came from inside the dragon’s stomach and all of a sudden, the princess came tumbling out! Her silky blond hair and her long flowing dress were covered in blood and guts. Just then the knight realised what he had done! Sometime later, Alfred the knight carried the dead girl back to the castle to give the breaking news to the family and villagers. He was dreading what they were going to do. Once he had got back to the castle, the King and Queen screamed at this tragedy. “What happened to my daughter, what did you do?” “I stabbed the dragon and killed him but my sword went through its stomach too far and I killed Elizabeth to!” The King felt betrayal as the castles best knight killed his wonderful daughter. Now who would be King or Queen when the King and Queen die? They had an idea, they could have another child. So that’s just what they had did. A year later she had arrived. In memory of Princess Elizabeth they named her Elizabeth the second. The villages were all very happy and excited about the new baby and everyone lived in peace for the rest of their lives. As for the knight he was hung! Alfie, Wilcombe, Year 6
