Course Description: We will be using the Algebra 2 (Prentice Hall) textbook. We want to keep
these textbooks in good condition, so you will need to cover your book. The book is available
online at http://www.pearsonsuccessnet.com. Your user name is AA-LSW and the password is
Hawks1. You will also be checked out a TI-83 calculator, if needed.
Classroom Expectations:
Be Ready to Learn: Come to class on time with all needed materials. All electronic devices
need to be put away during class time.
Be Respectful: Treat others with respect! Take care of all school materials, such as desks,
calculators, and textbooks. Perform academic integrity.
Be Responsible: Come to class with your planner and student ID on. If you are absent get notes
from one of your peers and/or come in with questions. Make up assignments in a timely fashion.
Come if for Extra Help in Needed: I am usually available before school at 7:30 and after
school until 4:00. I will be in the TPC, room B117. You can also contact me via email at
ckubice2@lps.org with any questions.
Challenge Yourself: Always but your best effort forward. Do not just do enough to get by.
You will need your planner in order to leave the room. Only water is allowed inside the
classroom. All other food or drink will be thrown away if brought inside the classroom.
You will also need to return the LSW math department parent permission form for a book and
calculator. All other LSW rules and procedures as listed in the student handbook will be
followed.
Math Test Room: If you miss a test or quiz, you need to take it in the Math Test Room before or
after school. It is located in room B105 and the hours are as follows:

7:15-8:00 am

Wednesday
7:15-8:00 am
3:15-4:15 pm
Thursday
7:15-8:00 am
3:15-4:15 pm
Friday
7:15-8:00 am
Grading:
Summative: 90% (Chapter tests, cumulative tests, final)
Formative: 10% (Homework, quizzes, etc.)
Late work will only be accepted up until each chapter test. There will not be any extra credit.
