IGM Academic Advising…..
Fall Semester Undergraduate Walk in Advising Hours:
Need assistance with quick questions (15 minutes or less)? Stop in during our
undergraduate walk in advising hours! During fall semester, walk in hours will be held:

Did you enter RIT this fall semester?
All students who entered into RIT this year are required to attend a meeting with their
advisor during fall semester. In this meeting we will discuss future course enrollment
and other IGM resources. To schedule this meeting you must stop by or call the IGM
office at 585-475-2763. It is imperative that you attend as there is a hold on your
account that will prevent for you from enrolling in spring semester classes. This hold
can only be removed by attending this meeting with your academic advisor. Please email your advisor if you have any questions.

Opportunities….
The megagame Emergence is tomorrow, Saturday, September 19! We’re looking for
players! Tickets and food are free!
Part LARP, part board game, part simulation, Emergence is a large roleplaying/wargame (around 50 players), in which teams take on the roles of various
nations and other organizations, and engage in military and diplomatic actions amidst
the apparent arrival of alien forces on Earth. The game is fast-paced, a little bit hectic,
but tons of fun! If you know anyone who played Emergence or Watch the Skies last
year, ask them to tell you about it. Everyone who has played one of these games can’t
wait to play the next one, and will definitely have a lot to tell you!
The game is scheduled to run from 1:00 until whenever it finishes (in the neighborhood
of 9-10PM), and you should plan on being there the entire time. Every role in the game
is important, and we’ve actually had some disruptions in the past with people arriving
late or leaving early. There will be food provided, of course!
If you are still interested, you’ll need to pick a team and register for a free ticket, and
read more information, which you can do here:
http://www.eventbrite.com/e/emergence-fall-2015-tickets-18465383459
Due to organizational needs, everyone who wants to participate will need to reserve a
ticket, and only one ticket is available per person. Please register as soon as you can,
and once we’ve finished registrations I’ll be sending out the information for each team
to review before the game starts. The deadline for registration is this Thursday.
Here is a video about another megagame, Watch the Skies!, which might help give you
an idea of what Emergence is like:

If you have any questions at all, please contact Sean Boyle at sean.boyle@rit.edu
