According to National Shelter System data and your region’s Disaster Response Capacity Framework, Red Cross can shelter only 32,000 of the 55,500 households requiring sheltering. The impacted states have received declarations for emergency assistance and FEMA will soon begin supporting shelter operations. They are considering a variety of sheltering options including tents, the TSA hotel program and temporary housing units: o What information do you need from FEMA to continue supporting sheltering operations? o FEMA needs support managing those federal shelters – what will you do to support that mission? o How will you coordinate, collaborate and communicate with FEMA regarding the varied sheltering operation?
