What are the Indicators? • Estimated annual number of unique individuals using emergency shelters • Estimated number of shelter users that are chronically homeless • Estimated number of shelter users that are episodically homeless • Estimated number of people living on the street (sleeping rough) What are the Indicators? • Percentage of communities that have demonstrated a reduction in homelessness through their point-in-time count • Number of individuals placed in housing through an HF intervention • Percentage of HF clients who remained housed at six and twelve month follow-ups • Percentage of HF clients who require rehousing How Will Data Be Collected? • Target setting data obtained through the Community Plans • Annual Community Plan Update obtained through annual updates provided to HPS by the CE. • HIFIS data on shelter usage trends • Project-level data through the Homelessness Electronic Reporting Information Network (HERIN) • Point-in-Time counts conducted at the community-level What is the role of HIFIS in data collection? • Data collected on the usage of shelters will play an important role in measuring the progress being made by the HPS at both the community and national level • An information management system will be a critical tool to support communities in implementing successful HF programs • HIFIS has been identified as a means to track housing placement and case management for HF clients. What is the role of HIFIS in data collection? • HIFIS can also help communities to collect the project-level data they will be required to submit to their CEs on the outcomes and results of HPS-funded projects such as housing placement and housing retention. • Outcome data on the results of HPS-funded projects is submitted to the HPS through a different interface, the Results Report Online (RROL) tool.
