2013 Tennis Wrap

The tennis scene at CCRA this season was extremely busy and so many players
enjoyed the various opportunities to play with new players and get some great
games played! New programs were offered and new players were welcomed to the
courts of all ages and levels!
MIXERS: Several mixers were organized throughout the season and each event
reached maximum number.. The mixers brought out regular participants as well
as new players and on may occasions several enjoyed dinner after play provided by
the Chevy Chase Cafe.
TEAM NO DRAMA was introduced this year. Many ladies were keen to be a part of
a team where results were not important and would play whenever I was able to
provide a match with area clubs. Team No Drama played great matches against
Columbia County Club and Chevy Chase Club several times and we also played
Palisades Swim and Tennis Club.
JUNIOR TEAM was formed consisting of the top teen participants in the Tennis
Academy. The players had a great showing against Chevy Chase Club and
Columbia Country Club.
WIMPLETON, FUTURE STARS AND TENNIS ACADEMY programs had
enthusiastic participants each week and all summer beginning the first week in June
and continuing thru August 30th. The Tennis Academy players enjoyed spending the
full day at CCRA playing tennis in the morning and afternoon and in between
enjoying the pool, ping pong matches and lunch at the Cafe.
ADULT DOUBLES LEAGUE and the JUNIOR AND ADULT SINGLES BUMPER
LEAGUE had a great sign up and all enjoyed playing with new partners and meeting
fellow members.
I had an incredible staff with Scott Keaton, Diane Baxter and Chris Kiernan and I
thank them for making the season such a success.
Hope to see many continue to come to the courts throughout the fall months.
Thanks to everyone for a wonderful tennis season!
