A course introducing students to biological principles including: the chemistry of life; the structure and function of cells, tissues, and organisms: heredity; and ecology. Learning Objectives Upon successful completion of this course, students will: Have acquired knowledge and comprehension of biological principles, including basic knowledge of photosynthesis and cell respiration. Be better to understand the functioning of the human body and its environment Have a better understanding of the earth biosphere Course Requirements 1. Attendance: Students who miss more than 25% of BIO 1010 classes will not pass or receive credit for the course. Additionally, terms and concepts quizzes (TCT’s) will be given weekly Students may make up exams only when a well-documented emergency prevents taking the exam at the regularly scheduled time. If you know in advance that you will miss an exam, please notify the instructor as soon as possible. 2. Exam Format: Lecture and lab exams may include multiple choice, fill-in-the-blank, matching and discussion questions.
