things are made of cells
2. Multicellular- an organism made up of many
cells. All of the cells are necessary to keep the
organism alive.
3. Unicellular- an organism with one cell; it can
perform all life functions with a single cell
4. Organelle- part of a cell that works together to
help perform life processes
5. Nucleus- large spherical structure found in the
center of a cell and controls all activity in the cell
(the brain of the cell)
6. Chloroplast- plant cell structures that turn energy
from sunlight into food
7. Cell Wall- additional layer around the outside of
plant cells that protect and give shape
8. Lysosome- organelle containing chemicals for
digestion in animal cells
9. Vacuole- organelles that store food, water, and
wastes
