Mr Bruce Notley-Smith made a statement in support of his notice being accorded priority over
the other business of the House.
(2)
Mr Luke Foley also made a statement in support of his notice being accorded priority—
That this House:
(1)
Supports restoring integrity to local government by banning property developers and
real estate agents from holding elected office as Councillors.
(2)
Supports restoring integrity to local government by introducing donations and spending
caps for local government elections.
(3)
Welcomes the backflip by the Government on its own 2012 legislation, which permitted
Councillors to vote on matters in which they have a pecuniary interest.

MOTION ACCORDED PRIORITY—STATE EMERGENCY SERVICE VOLUNTEERS
Mr Bruce Notley-Smith moved, pursuant to notice, That this House:
(1)
Pays tribute to the State Emergency Services (SES) volunteers for their efforts over the past 24
hours in responding to 579 callouts from across the State.
(2)
In particular recognises SES volunteers in the Sydney Western Region, Sydney Southern Region
and Illawarra South Coast Region.
(3)
Recognises the incredible contribution that thousands of SES volunteers make right across the
State.
Debate ensued.
Mr Gareth Ward, by leave, also spoke to the motion.
