Latin 1 Quarter 2 Project Guidelines - Due: December 14/17, 2012 ***Please turn in this handout with your project.*** Nomen mihi est _________________________ Date _________________ Block ____________ Choose one of the following: Theater at Pompeii – Put on a play in Latin. Work in groups of 2-3. Choose either “in basilicā” or “Poppaea” and write out the translation in English. Perform the play for your class, in Latin, memorized, with appropriate costumes and props. You must also create a poster advertising your play. On the poster, you must include the title of the play, where and when it is being performed, who is putting on the play and for what occasion, how much it will cost, and what to bring. Then draw lines out from all the major buildings/areas and create an information box for that building. In the information box, include the name of the building (i.e. Basilica), what it was used for (used for courthouse or meetings for business men), and a picture (either a recreation or an image of the remains). Include the following major buildings/areas: Basilica, Polling Station, 3 Municipal Buildings, Clothworkers Meetinghall, Temple of the Lares, Temple of the Emperors, Temple of Apollo, Temple of Venus, Temple of Jupiter, Covered Market, Gates, Statues of Distinguished Citizens, Message Board.
