Paediatric First Aid (Accredited)
Description:
This course meets the requirements in line with the Statutory
Framework for the EYFS and Ofsted. This 12 hour course is based
around the most common injuries that occur with children. It includes
theory and practical content enabling candidates to demonstrate skills
and knowledge in a practical way with a multiple-choice test on the
last session. The successful completion of this course will give the
candidate a certificate which is recognised by Ofsted and valid for 3
years, after which a re-qualification is required

Objectives:
By the end of the session you will:
 Appropriate contents of a first aid box
 Recording accidents and incidents and dealing with emergencies
 Recognising and responding appropriately to anaphylactic shock,
electric shock and bleeding
 Responding appropriately to burns and scalds, choking, suspected
fractures, head, neck and back injuries
 Responding appropriately to eye injuries, bites and stings, effects
of extreme heat and cold and to febrile convulsions
 Recognising and responding appropriately to the emergency
needs of children with chronic medical conditions and serious
sudden illnesses
