1Year 4 – ‘Where the Wild Things’ are Homework Project. Choose ONE from these three options to complete. 1 3 2 LITERACY ART & DESIGN / SCIENCE DESIGN AND TECHNOLOGY Information leaflet about a biome of your choice Make a shoe box biome Make a biome cake! Create an information leaflet about a biome of your choice (polar, rainforest, temperate forest, tundra, desert, savanna, marine, freshwater, etc...) You could include facts about the climate, plants, animals and where in the world this biome can be found. Try to include pictures that link to your information too. Using a shoe box, create a mini biome of your choice! You could choose from the following: rainforest, ocean, temperate forest, polar, freshwater, tundra, desert or any other major habitat. Use the shoe box lid as your base and stand the main part of the shoe box up inside it. Add plants and animals found in that habitat using drawings, printed pictures or models. You can see some great examples if you Google ‘shoe box habitats’. Design and make a cake that represents one of the biomes we have learnt about (polar, rainforest, temperate forest, tundra, desert, savanna, marine, freshwater, etc...). Draw your design first and write down the recipe of how to make your cake. It would be great if you could also include some photos of your finished masterpiece and write an evaluation to review how successful your cake was. Please hand your homework project in by Monday 5th October (so you have three weeks to complete it!) If you need any basic resources such as paper, please speak to your teacher. We hope you have fun!
