Dear Concert Choir Parent or Guardian:

This year, as you know, the Concert Choir is planning a performance trip to New York City in the
spring. We are just now finishing the planning stage so that all is well organized, safe, and fun. The
trip will be well chaperoned and the students will be on an exciting and busy schedule so that we can
do and see as much as possible. We will be performing in Manhattan and will be experiencing all the
best cultural and artistic things New York has to offer. We will have security at the hotel and all
Iroquois Music Department and District policies concerning alcohol, drugs and inappropriate behavior
will be strongly in effect.
To ensure commitment on the student’s part, we are asking that each student turn in a check for
$100.00 as a trip deposit by Friday, Oct 7th. Please make the check out to Iroquois Central School.
Please attach the check to the signed and dated permission form attached to this letter, indicating your
willingness to allow your child to attend the trip, and have your child sign in compliance with the
behavioral agreement. (Return just the permission form and keep this sheet for your information.) The
students will have a chance to make this deposit money back with fundraising as we are planning at
least 5 separate trip fundraisers through the year. Please review the pertinent information that follows,

***If you are interested in chaperoning the trip, please indicate this on the permission form and
include your $100 deposit as well. Chaperone space is limited and will be chosen on a “first paid”
basis.

Iroquois Concert Choir Trip to New York City on Thursday, April 19th to Sunday, April
22nd, 2012.

A deposit check for $100.00 is attached, made out to:
IROQUOIS CENTRAL SCHOOLS.
Appropriate behavior and positive Music Department and District representation is of
paramount importance. I understand that all Iroquois District and Music Department
policies are in effect for the trip, as outlined in the student handbooks both for the
District and for the Choral Department. Any infractions involving alcohol, drugs, or
inappropriate behavior of any kind will result in the student’s immediate removal from
the trip at the parent/guardian’s expense, and school disciplinary action upon his/her
return. Such infractions will be dealt with on an individual basis by Mr. Gastle, who
maintains final say in all such matters, and will affect the student’s further participation
in Music Department events.
