Job Objective: The RHC Practice & Safety Compliance Manager is responsible for the workflow,
performance, regulatory compliance, and overall management of clinic operations to achieve expert
care, superb service, and maximal physician/staff productivity. This person works closely with NRMC
providers regarding strategic planning, program development, continuous quality improvement and
financial/budget reporting and monitoring. Responsible for the management of the organization’s
safety data, coordinating regulatory and operational safety activities, as well as providing education and
awareness throughout the organization.
Qualifications:
1. Bachelor’s degree in Nursing, Health Care Administration, or Health related field preferred.
2. Three (3) to five (5) years’ experience in the health care field with an emphasis on Physician
Office Management. Combinations of education and experience will be considered.
3. Ability to self-manage, communicate professionally and effectively with all personalities, have
initiative, exercise independent judgment, and proactively problem solve.
4. Ability to maintain harmonious working relationships while addressing complex and sensitive
administrative issues.
5. Documented experience in planning, organizing, delegating, and supervising a physician practice
or similar entity. Skill in research, prepping, interpreting, and presenting comprehensive
reports.
6. Experience with Electronic Medical Record (EMR) software as well as other computer programs
(i.e. Word, Excel, and Outlook).
7. Knowledge of healthcare administrative practices, government reimbursement regulations and
requirements, HIPAA, and coding.
8. Certification as a Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH) or
other related certification preferred or ability to obtain within 6 months of employment with
NRMC.
9. Understanding of incident command systems such as HICS or NIMS preferred.
10. Ability to develop and maintain knowledge of construction management; safety management;
local, state, and federal codes (NFPA, NEC, UBC, OSHA, etc.).

11. Familiarity with CMS regulatory process referred; or equivalent familiarity with other accrediting
organizations such as The Joint Commission.
12. Must be familiar with technical reports and have the ability to interpret, write, or educate
others on the contents of such reports. Ability to read and interpret blue prints.
13. Knowledge of Right to Know Hazardous Materials Management.
14. Proven professional demeanor and ability to handle stressful situations at any given time.
Job Duties:
1. Promote customer service and patient satisfaction through regular interaction with Physicians,
Administrators, Clinical Staff, Management, and the general public in a courteous and
professional manner. Provide proactive service recovery techniques.
2. Implement problem solving mechanisms in both routine daily activities as well as emergency
situations. Respond appropriately to complaints and take effective corrective action when
necessary ensuring patient care at the highest level.
3. Exhibit a demonstrated commitment to the Mission, Vision, and Values of Northern Rockies
Medical Center. Maintain standards of care and adhere to organizational policies and
procedures.
4. Management of daily staff activities to include but not be limited to:
a. New and ongoing orientation to staff duties.
b. Performance management of all staff, including daily and annual appraisals.
c. Staff disciplinary procedures, upholding the dignity of the individual when corrective
counseling is necessary.
d. Reminding and recording staff licensure and certifications requirements and
communicating those to HR or other individuals as necessary for compliance.
e. Patient and staff scheduling for optimal production.
f. Develop and maintain policies and procedures as they pertain to the role.
g. Schedule and conduct regular communication meetings to insure the practice runs
ideally.
5. Budgetary responsibilities include development of annual budgetary needs in consultation with
CFO and fiscal department to include capital expenditures, salaries, and materials management.
Ensuring maximization of revenues and decreased expenditures.
6. Operations responsibilities include facility maintenance, marketing, patient services, billing, and
coding, regulatory compliance, and patient satisfaction. Establishment of processes for system
management of medical records, reporting, billing, and charting.
7. Partner with Human Resources or other Administrative members with regards to employee
relations, corrective action, performance management, recruiting, compensation, benefits,
development of job descriptions, and policies and procedures.
8. Work collaboratively with Quality Management Team in the development of policies and
procedures that address safety issues throughout the organization. Plan and implement
education for all staff at NRMC.

9. Use knowledge to assist in evaluating and integrating new construction within the organization.
Act as liaison between outside agencies, vendors, and staff with regards to safety compliance.
10. Assess, prepare, and present data findings to assigned entities such as Administration, outside
regulatory agencies, or the Board of Directors.
11. Conduct inspections routinely and thoroughly, reporting events to the Quality Management
team timely and effectively.
12. Prepare and maintain, on a consistent basis, a plan of correction for any deficiencies found
internally or through regulatory surveys for the organization. Stay current with CMS standards
related to and ensuring safety compliance, as well as understanding trends relating to local,
state, and federal safety compliance.

Schedule: Primarily weekdays (Monday through Friday from 8 am to 5 pm with 1 hour lunch period).
Occasionally may be required to adjust schedule hours to include weekends.
Work Environment: Acute care hospital, professional office setting. Area is well lit and ventilated.
Possible exposure to marked changes in temperature, humidity, and noise.

OSHA Exposure Category: (I) Tasks that involve exposure to blood, body fluids, or tissues. All
procedures or other job-related tasks that involve an inherent potential for mucous membrane or skin

tasks. Use of personal protective measures are required of all employees engaged in Category I tasks.
Dress Code: Must comply with Northern Rockies Medical Center Dress Code Policy Admin.0012 and
departmental guidelines.
Physical Demands: Requires repetitive bending, pulling, pushing, kneeling, walking and lifting up to 50
lbs. Visual and auditory acuity within normal limits. Wear personal protective equipment as required.
