About the Beneficiaries
Homeward Trails Animal Rescue (HT) is an Arlington-based nonprofit organization dedicated to the rescue, care
and placement of homeless dogs and cats. Founded in 2001, Homeward Trails works with local DC-area
shelters as well as rural, low-income animal shelters in Virginia, West Virginia, Maryland and as far away as
North Carolina and Georgia. Since its founding, Homeward Trails has rescued more than 17,000 homeless
animals and has a volunteer corps of more than 1,000.
The Animal Welfare League of Arlington (AWLA) was founded in 1944 and is dedicated to improving the
welfare of stray, abused and neglected animals in Northern Virginia. AWLA provides animal adoption and
community programs to Northern Virginia and the DC metropolitan area, as well as animal rescue and control
services within Arlington County. For more than 70 years, AWLA has been committed to its mission, and each
year more than 3,000 animals benefit from the League's care and services.
Together, HT and AWLA make a positive difference in the lives of thousands of animals and people every year.
Caring for strays or providing comfort to animals surrendered when an owner can no longer care for them;
providing affordable vaccines and inspiring community kids through summer camps; working collaboratively to
bring more humane laws that protect animals – HT and AWLA are inspiring examples of community-based
organizations making Arlington a better place for two and four legged residents.

About PawCasso
PawCasso is a unique and exciting live art auction event benefiting Homeward Trails Animal Rescue and the
Animal Welfare League of Arlington. Held at Washington Regan National Airport’s Historical Terminal A, this
unique and elegant event will feature the original artwork from a variety of well-known local artists from
around the DC area in a live auction.
The evening will host approximately 300 animal and art-lovers and their favorite four-legged friends.
Yes, dogs are welcome too!
In addition to the live art auction, there will also be a large, upscale silent auction featuring more than 100
donations including massage certificates, vacation home stays, restaurant certificates, yoga classes, private
airplane rides and much more.
The event also features delicious food, drinks and live music!
We anticipate raising approximately $50,000 through this event and hope that you will consider being a part of
its success.
