A Cappella
As the a cappella genre grows in the popular society, more and more a cappella groups have
been popping up around the country and on out campus. The a cappella club is a place for
people who love to sing, where they can be part of a group that has a lot of fun and sings some
great music. The group directly associated with the a cappella club, Nada Cantata, is this
university’s first a cappella group, and preforms in competitions and guest performances’
around the state throughout the year.
Accounting and Finance Club
The Purpose of this organization is to provide student of accounting and finance an
opportunity to: 1) gain a better understanding of the problems and potentialities of the
business world,2) to facilitate an opportunity for membership to external professional
societies, and 3) to provide a service to the community, so that they may be better
prepared to carry out their responsibilities as future business leaders and professionals.
Actuarial Science Club
The Actuarial Science Club is chiefly for those who are pursuing a degree in actuarial science,
however anyone that is interested in our activities or a career in the actuarial field is
welcome to join. The club will meet about five times a quarter. The purpose of the club is to
generate knowledge about the actuarial career field, and prepare students for the business
world. Our Business events throughout the year will consist of inviting and hosting
companies that give presentations about actuarial work and look to recruit prospective
students. We also participate in resume workshops and encourage students to take
advantage of practice interviews. We intend on having a few social events such as BBQ’s and
volleyball to encourage networking amongst members. The club is a tool through which we
organize study groups or study times to help with homework or prepare for exams. It is also
a way to bring students together who have common interest.
ACFE CWU Student Chapter
The purpose of the CWU AFCE Student Chapter is to provide students with an educational
and social organization that promotes anti-fraud knowledge and provides students with
opportunities to develop education, research, leadership, and networking skills in the field
of fraud examination.
ACM
ACM, The world’s largest educational and scientific computing society, delivers
resources that advance computing as a science and a profession. ACM provides the
computing field’s premier Digital Library and serves its members and the computing
profession with leading – edge publications, conferences, and career resources. The
CWU ACM chapter provides weekly meetings to members of the ACM and nonmembers alike. We hold discussions on current technical events, plan and organize tips
to both on-campus and off campus events, and organize ACM-hosted campus events
such as local gaming competitions. We hold guest talks from recent graduates, experts
in field, and provide work groups by Career Services. We try to make quarterly tutoring
available through knowledgeable members of the ACM Club. We conduct fund raising to
finance projects and activities that help build and develop beneficial technical skills.
Anyone who enjoys computers & Technology, current events, programming, problem
solving, or just has a general interest in anything computational is encouraged to join
ACM.
Active Minds at CWU
Active Minds at CWU is the newest chapters among over 400 currently at college
campuses across the country. In association with the national organization, Active
Minds, we strive to promote mental health awareness and education though
campaigns, fundraising, and informational meetings. Awareness Week, and more.
Mental health disorders are an ever-growing problem in college. Unfortunately most
students suffer silently for fear of what other may think, or they simply don’t know
where to start getting help. It can be horribly isolating. Our goal is to provide a place
where students can come to learn about mental illness and know that they are not
alone in their struggle. We hope to provide information about resource both on and off
campus for students seek help, if they need it. We will also relay the latest findings of
mental health information as it pertains to college students. We currently only have
chapters at UW and EWU here in Washington. Mental health affects everyone in one
way or another, which is why we need to bring this to CWU as well. All students are
welcome and encouraged to join. Keep in mind that this is NOT a support group and we
do not provide any mental health counseling of any kind, and you do not have to be
suffering from any disorder to join. If you are interesting in helping the fight to end
mental health stigma on our campus, please join us Thursday at 7.pm. We hope to see
you soon!
Ada Lovelace Club
Our goal is to provide a supportive educational and social environment in which women
in Computer Science will feel more confident about being in this department and in the
field. We meet weekly to discuss current technical events and organize trips to oncampus events, such as: ice-cream socials, Pizza Luncheons, and STEM event for women.
We also go on field trips to Microsoft, Boeing and other companies. Anyone who wishes
to support women in computers and technology, programming, problem solving, or has
general interest in computers is encourages to join Ada Lovelace Club.
AGC
AGC(Associated General Contractors of America) is a way to network, learn and apply
construction related skills while a student. We provide opportunities to learn prominent
construction methods, to meet construction professionals and to obtain leaderships
skills in the construction industry. Our goals as a club is to attend site walks of different
scopes, to be involved in our community by providing some construction services and
for each member to acquire the skills to network and present themselves in a
professional manner. We will meet once a month in Hogue RM 227, date and time TBD.
Alpha Eta Rho

Alpha Kappa Psi
Our Organization’s purpose is to teach our members professional competencies that will
help them to obtain employment in the field of their choice after graduation. We will also
work on strengthening and learning new skills to further help our future professional
pursuits. The purpose of the chapter shall be as follows: To acquaint students with Business
and Business communications ideas and issues, to create opportunities for our members to
develop event planning, team work, collaboration, time-management, and professional
communication skills, to develop a nucleus of professional individuals who have a concern
for Business principals and ethics, and to encourage member to associate with professionals
in the business community. AKPsi meets every Wednesday at 8pm in Shaw-Smyser. At each
meeting, Executive members will update the membership on new projects and
opportunities as well as the progress of current endeavors. Although all students are invited
and encouraged to attend club sponsored event, official meetings are for membership only.
American Coral Directors Association

American Water Resource Association
The purpose of the Central Washington University Student Chapter of the American Water
Association (AWRA-CWU) is to provide resources for student interested in water-related
issues at Central Washington University. By bringing people from all areas of water
resources together for social and professional exchange, this organization encourages a
multidisciplinary understanding of water resources. Club members will once a month at
CWU and be invited to monthly dinner meetings with water resource professionals from
around the state of Washington. These meetings will facilitate networking within the field of
water resources management. Club meetings will be held the third Wednesday of each
month at 5pm in Lind 103. Anyone interested in learning more can contact Dan Pittenger,

Anthropology Student Association
The purpose of the Anthropology Student Association is to educate people about
opportunities in the department and in the field of anthropology. To encourage
communication between students and faculty and to involve non-anthropology majors
who may have an interest in the field.
Arnold Air Society
Arnold Air Society is a club comprised of mostly Air Force ROTC Cadets dedicated to
develop leadership skills through community service and increase awareness of air
power. We host several community events including our annual Halloween can food
drive, fundraising for those with disabilities, and volunteering at local nursing homes.
We meet biweekly on Sunday in Peterson Hall at 5:00pm
ASL
The purposes of the CWU ASL Club are to improve and maintain signing skills for
members and improve deaf awareness. Due to the lack of the deaf community here in
Ellensburg, the ASL Club will be visiting nearby deaf communities to establish a
connection between our members and deaf social events, deaf evens here at CWU as
well as other cities and fundraisers to support our club.
ASME
The purpose of AMSE shall be the advancement and dissemination of the theory and
practice of mechanical engineering, the presentation of proper perspective of
engineering work and the opportunity to become acquainted with the personnel and
activities of the society as well as to promote professional consciousness.
ASSE Student Chapter
The purpose of this club is to promote the advancement of the safety profession and
safety education and to foster the professional wellbeing and development of its
member within its campus community. Our goals: To further the professional
preparation of our members by sponsoring programs for the advancement of safety and
acquisition of technical knowledge. To improve scholarship and the general quality of
work in the safety profession by fostering a concern for progress in all facets of safety
educator and practitioners. We generally hold meetings once a month on a Wednesday
at 5:30pm in Hogue Hall room # 229.
CWU Astronomy club
The Central Washington University Astronomy Club has been formed to give students
and community members the opportunity to view astronomical bodies and learn more
about our universe. We want to provide facilities and equipment, along with an
enhanced learning environment, to anyone interested in Astronomy.
AUAP Friends Club
The club fosters friendship and cross-cultural understanding between CWU students
and participants in the Asia University America Program (AUAP) – a five month study
abroad program at CWU for students from Asia University in Tokyo Japan. Events in the
past have included intercultural game nights, softball games, pumpkin-carving parties,
pizza parties, volunteer activities and so on. CWU and AUAP students may become
“Campus Friends”- matched by interests and dedicated to meet each other on a weekly
basis- or only to group gatherings. Club members may also be invited to AUAP Night.
Campus Friends partners have become lifelong friends and often visit each other in their
respective countries!
Beta Alpha Psi
Beta Alpha Psi is an international honorary and service organization for accounting,
finance and information system majors. Its stated purpose includes recognizing
scholastic and professional excellence in the fields of accounting, finance, or information
systems with the provisions of opportunities for self-development and association
among members and practicing business professionals; and encouragement of a sense
of ethical, social, and public responsibilities. In addition to the above, the objectives of
the central Washington University chapter are to: Purse the spirit of collegiate life with
fun, Firsthand experience of different career options, Be informed of current events in
the accounting field, and set up network with accounting professionals.
Biology Club
We are the Biology and what we do is engage students that have interest in the biology
field by taking them field trips or showing them real research labs and examples of
biology research that’s happening today. Also being mentors to younger students to
help get them excited about biology or Science is a major part of our life and our goal is
get people aware of what’s going on and why it’s happing and why it’s important. These
past years there has been trips planned to attend elementary and middle school around
the county to display some of the thing CWU biology club members do or, in some
events have been very successful because after these events many parent and students
appreciated that biology club came in to the school to engage and interest the students
about science.
Boots and Cats
Boots ‘n’ Cats is a mixes a’cappella group formed out of the desire to be involved in a high
quality performing group and to compete in various competitions around the Northwest. It
is our purpose to promote a positive and collaborative rehearsal process and maintain a
small number of members with 7-8 people to promote participation and a close group bond.
Break Central
The Purpose and goals of Break Central are one in the same. That is to spread and teach
the culture of hip-hop, through breakdance, Classes will be held twice a week where
participants may come in and learn how to dance at their own pace. We will also be
investing in hosting battles, where anyone may compete. This would be a way for the
learning students to gain more experience and for audiences to get a taste of the real
hip-hop world.
Catholic Campus Ministry
This club was formed to provide a spiritual home for the students, staff, and faculty of
Central Washington University and specifically provide the catholic students with an
opportunity at attend weekly Mass on Campus. We are committed to the vision of
Cardinal John Henry Newman who believed in the education of the whole person and in
that tradition seek to supplement the quality education the students receive at CWU
with opportunities to learn about and grow in their faith.
Center Campus Ambassadors
Central Campus Ambassadors is a local chapter of the National Campus Ambassador
Organization. We Sponsor activities such as Bible Studies, Potluck dinners on Friday
evenings, Philosophical Discussions( The Cave) and One –on –one weekly Discipleship
meetings. Every year for spring break we go to Mexico to build houses for families in
need. And 2-3 times a year we get away for weekend retreats to fellowship and worship
together. We welcome any students interested in studying the Bible and finding out
who Jesus is.
Central Environmental Club
The purpose of the Central Environmental Club is to work towards making Central
Washington University’s campus more sustainable. Central Environmental Club provide a
place for like-minded, environmentally conscious students to work together and make
positives impacts on campus and within the Ellensburg community. Our past efforts include:
cleaning up the river that runs through campus, picking up trash across campus, participate
in the Green Challenge in the fall, and raise awareness of the community garden located
near the Wahle apartments. We are open and willing to participate in other sustainability
projects and discussions. Students who want to volunteer at events, suggest their own
projects, or simply learn more about sustainability and opportunities on campus are
encouraged to join. Our club meetings take place in the 3rd fllor lobby of Dean hall. Please
contact a member or officer, or join our Facebook group to find out when meetings are
held. We have club t-shirts available for member in a range of sizes.
Central gaming initiative
The purpose of CGI is promote enjoyment of video games in a group environment. The
Club also puts on monthly LANs where anyone can come and bring gaming devices to
gather and play together.
Central Marketing Association
The mission of Central Marketing Association (CMA) is to promote a greater understanding of
the career paths, opportunities, developments, and current issues in the marketing field. We hope to
fulfill these goals by engaging faculty relations, providing industry professional speakers to share insight,
touring companies, and doing other club related activities and event. CMA seeks to leverage these
activities in other to assist students with jobs and internship placements. CMA is open to any students
who is interested in the field of marketing, regardless of major.
Central Theater Outreach
Central Theater Outreach, CTO, works as an outreach program to connect the external arts
community with the Central Theatre Ensemble, the Theatre Arts Department and Central Washington
University as a whole. One of the main functions of these club is to use allocated funds to bring artists,
professionals and teacher in the field of Theatre Arts to CWU to teach master classes and seminars.
Anyone can join CTO if they are interested in Theatre Arts and most of the classes as a first come, first
serve basis for signing up. If classes are full members of CTO are still always welcome to attend and
observe the classes that are taking place. Hopefully CTO can inspire other and grow as artist with the
artistic resources that can be bought to Central Washington University wit in the discipline of theater
arts.
Central Student Alumni Association
We are creating this club to help make better wildcats. The Central Student Alumni
Association is proud to be the first student Alumni Association on campus at Central
Washington University. As a student club, our goal is to bring back and foster the spirit
of what it means to be a Wildcat of CWU. Building long lasting traditions, pride, and
leadership throughout the University is what we will strive for. Our Objective is to
provide activities and programs to CWU students that can assist in their development as
leaders, scholars, and future alumni. All current CWU undergraduate and graduate
students that have a GPA of 2.5 or higher are eligible to be a part of SAA. Joining is one
of the first steps to becoming a Wildcat for life. Our club meets every Thursday at 5pm
in SURC 236.
Central Wesley
CWU Wesley is a campus ministry sponsored by the First United Methodist Church in
Ellensburg. We seek to offer a safe and comfortable worship space and fellowship to any
young adults and students of Central Washington University. We serve dinner at 6:30 pm on
Tuesday at the First United Methodist Church on Ruby Street, with fellowship and faith
building activities to follow! All are welcome, so please join us.
Central WORD
The Central Washington Organization for Reading Development (Central WORD) is a
student group being proposed to ASCWU. As stated in Central WORD’s constitution and
by-laws the purpose of the group is to advocate and integrate literacy in K-12 education
and the surrounding communities. While seeking recognition form ASCWU, Central
WORD is also seeking affiliation with the Washington Organization for Reading
development (WORD) and the International Reading Association.
CERMA
The Cultural and Environmental Resource Management Association (CERMA) is student
driven organization with the intention to untie students and staff who share an interest
in natural and cultural resources, as well as serving as a bridge between the university
and its surrounding communities. The goal CERMA is to provide hands-on/practical
educational opportunities and a forum for members to be exposed to professional
cultural and environmental resource management skills, agencies, firms, organizations,
and activities. CEMERA meets on the third floor foyer of Dean Hall Wednesday at 5.
Chi Alpha Christian Fellowship
Chi Alpha Christian Fellowship is a group of students who gather weekly to care for each
other, serve the campus, and worship Jesus Christ. We help each other to grow and
transformed by God thought our university experience. Chi Alpha sponsors regular
social activities, service events, and mission trips. We are open to students from all
backgrounds, lifestyles, and beliefs.

CWU French Club
Seek to establish a French community at CWU and in the Ellensburg community. We
shall do this by iniviting and encouraging all persons to participate in the activities and
events of this club, regardless of their knowledge and use of the French language, age,
race, orientation, marital status, or mental and physical ability.
Cosplay and Costuming club
The Cosplay and Costuming club provides a way for students interested in cosplay and
costume work to get together in a friendly and nurturing environment. Together we will
discuss current trends in the cosplay world, learn new sewing and crafting techniques,
attend conventions and show off our work in our quarterly ‘fashion shows’! We believe that
anyone and everyone can cosplay, so come join us!
CRU

CWU AEG Student Chapter
The Central Washington University (CWU) Association of Engineering and Environmental
Geologists (AEG) Student Chapter is a club organized to bring students closer to their
potential employers. On a monthly basis, we meet in Seattle at the Washington State
AEG Chapter meeting, listen to environmental geology discussions, and create contacts
as potential resources for our future work/projects. Additional club meetings are held
on the Central Washington University campus in Lind Hall each Wednesday at 5:00pm.
With this student chapter we provide a forum for additional guest speakers as well as
introduce, otherwise unavailable, short courses on engineering geology.
CWU Chapter of the American String Teachers Association (ASTA)
The purpose of ASTA is to promote and contribute to string education community of the CWU
music department. The will be accomplished through organizing social events; hosting clinics on various
topics of string and music education; and connecting to the state and national ASTA.
CWU College Republicans
Let it be known that the organization of Central Washington College Republican Club is
organized for the establishment of a free dialogue between students pertaining to the
political issues of the day. With a wide variety of students, it is expected that a wide
variety of opinions also exist amoung us. We intend to create an atmosphere in which
ideas can be expressed freely without fear of retribution from professor or student.
CWU Give
We are a community service group. We wish to inspire change and involvement in our local
community as well as our world-wide community. We will work to support others in their adventures
and future volunteer excursions by providing fundraising ideas and opportunities. We will also serve as
an outlet for the G.I.V.E Foundation based in Seattle, WA.
CWU Honors: Engage DHC
This club will work to establish outreach between the Douglas Honors College (DHC) and
the CWU student body. Utilizing the Four Pillar structure that is in place in the DHC, this club will aim to
guide its activities toward helping students reach more depth in leadership, critical inquiry, civic
engagement and undergraduate research. These four pillars will be the determining factor of club
activities. This club will work to reach out to the external community of CWU and all students in all
departments who are interested in getting involved on-campus. All who are interested in being engaged,
diversely educated students should come check us out. Our mission is to collaborate and become
integrated with many departments and organizations here at Central and in the Ellensburg community.
CWU Horn Club
The purpose of this club will be to promote the horn and horn literature in the Ellensburg
Community, the Central Washington region, and at CWU. Anyone interested in the horn may be a
member of the CWU Horn Club. Activities held by the CWU Horn Club will occur to benefit the members
of the club. These activities will include, but will not be limited to: performing as an ensemble and
sponsoring activities (i.e. Central Horn Day) that are open to the community and fellow horn performers.
This club will also serve as a vehicle to raise funds for the members to attend professional conferences
and workshops relevant to the horn and horn playing.
CWU History Club
CWU’s History Club exists to encourage and support students to learn and enjoy history in all of
its dimensions through history based activities, including field trips to local, regional, and national
landmarks. The History Club also promotes students coming together to broaden their knowledge by
exploring historical topics outside the classroom including visiting museums and historical sites. Along
with local events and connections, the History Club at CWU also provides students with the opportunity
to join Phi Alpha Theta, a national history based honors society that can provide students connections to
historians from all over, both inside and outside the academic world. The club also promotes making
history relevant to students’ lives by sponsoring activities that illuminate the connections between
history and contemporary events and politics, and invites interested students of all backgrounds and
areas of interest to join us in pursuing new perspectives on the past, present, and future.
CWU Improv
CWU Improv has been formed in order to teach and further develop the growth of the inventive
and skill basked art form of improvisational comedy for students, both within and outside the Theatre
department. Our goals are to provide a supportive environment where students can learn a strong
foundation for improvisational comedy and then proceed to experimentation, creation, and
performance. This includes, but is not limited to, short form improvisational comedy, long form
improvisational comedy, sketch comedy, improvement for listening skills, improvement in giving and
receiving constructive criticism, and practice in having public confidence. While we will have public
shows or performances to showcase our improvisational skills, we have found in the past that what is
the most exciting is when those who have found a safe place to take artistic risks, fall, and get back up
again feeling stronger than before. If we can provide a safe space for artists, comedians, and people to
grow, this club will be a success.
CWU Investment Group
The CWU Investment Group seeks to provide students critical financial analysis skills for the
financial job market in a fun, collegial, and intellectually stimulating environment. The group also
provides an opportunity for students to begin establishing a professional network. The CWU
Investment Group is built around three primary functions that provide invaluable skills for student
interested in finance. The first function is to teach students how to analyze potential equity
investments in two ways: First and foremost by using quantitative valuation models which are based
on assumption founding in sound economic reasoning; and also, by using relative valuation rations.
This training develops analytical and critical thinking skills in addition to economic intuition. The
second function is to provide a forum for students to pitch stock analyses to the group for discussion
and debate. This encourages students to show confidence in themselves and their research, be
assertive, and foster the respect of their peers. The third Function is to make investment decisions.
If the board, with input from group members, decides a stock is a worthy investment, the stock will
be added to a mock portfolio using software that tracks real market activity and hence true portfolio
returns over time. Long run performance of the portfolio is based on the quality of the analytical
research, discussion, and debate of the group members and investment decisions made by the
board.
CWU LOL
The purpose of this club is to build a community within the university in regards to the gaming,
social, and e-sports world of League of Legends. The club will also develop individual and team based
skills for League of Legends.
CWU MPI
MPI is a group of individuals whose mission is to gain an insight to the event planning industry
both as planners and suppliers. Our members will gain experience through educational and networking
opportunities, and by planning events, both on campus and within the community. This club will be
meeting every other Thursday in Michaelson 126 from 5:30-6:30 PM.
CWU Museum Club
The clubs purpose is to explore and discuss the museum space, working closely with the oncampus Museum Studies and Anthropology programs and other clubs such as the Anthropological
Student Association and History Club, and organizations like ABLE. We aim to raise awareness about
museum outlets on campus and to appeal to the student population as a whole. As part of the club
activities we take trips to museums around Washington State, volunteer to help out with the Museum
of Culture and Environment when they host events, host movie nights with a museum theme, or simply
gather and talk. Club meetings are held Mondays at 5PM in the lobby of Dean Hall, just outside the
Museum of Culture and Environment.
CWU Multicultural Club
It shall be the purpose of CWU’s Multicultural Club to attend leadership conferences, cultural
activities and to provide opportunities for enrolled students at CWU to attend such activities. The CWU
Multicultural Club will provide cultural activities, and networking opportunities for CWU’s Multicultural
Club members to gain valuable leadership and cultural communication skills to have enriched,
productive, and successful academic and employment related careers.
CWU Pre- Dental
The Purpose of the Pre-Dental Club is to bring together students in pursuing a career in the
dental field. In joining the club, students will learning about the application process, listen to lectures
from special guests such as dentists and admission committee members, and participate in activities
pertaining to the dental field. The goals of the Pre-Dental Club are to encourage more students to
consider entering the dental field and to help student prepare for their dental career. At this time there
is no fee to join. To be eligible to join, students must be enrolled students at CWU.
CWU Pre-Veterinary Club
CWU Pre-Veterinary Club is designed to give students information on different fields of
veterinary medicine and other animal related careers as well as provide an avenue for
experience with veterinarians and diverse animals. The membership is open to any student
pursuing a career in veterinary medicine or in a related field.
CWU Public Health and Pre-Nursing
Central Washington University’s Public Health and Pre-Nursing Club was created to help guide
public health and pre-nursing students through their journey in becoming health professionals.
Our club is dedicated to serving our members by providing a fun and interactive club, while
working towards the purpose of improving our knowledge of public health and pre-nursing.
This year, we are working towards collaborating with Pacific Northwest SOPHE to create fun and
knowledgeable programs to share with Central Washington University students. Our club is also
looking forward to attending the 2015 National SOPHE Conference held April 23-25 in Portland,
Oregon. Meetings for our club will be held on Thursdays, twice a month in Purser Hall. Check out
our calendar in the Purser Hall lobby for meeting times and room numbers.
CWU Rec LIFE (Leaders Innovating for Everyone)
The purpose of the Rec LIFE organization shall be to further the development of Central
Washington University future leaders with an interest in recreation and health, by refining their current
leadership abilities, helping them establish a personal leadership philosophy, and instilling in them a
commitment to the campus and community. This purpose is guided by Central Washington University’s
mission and objectives, in addition to Campus recreation’s objectives.
CWU Saxophone Club
The aims and purposes of the CWU Saxophone Club shall be to foster the firm establishment of
the saxophone as a medium of serious musical expression, encouraging its use in a wide variety
of musical settings including chamber music, jazz, symphonic music, ensembles of saxophones,
and its use as a solo instrument. The club will also foster communication and fellowship among
CWU students interested in the saxophone and provide a forum through which such objectives
can be pursued. Additionally, the club will work to encourage personal development through
publications, gatherings, and other interactions involving CWU students interested in the
saxophone. Lastly, the club will contribute towards the continual elevation of standards of
performance, education, and communication within the saxophone division at CWU.
CWU Secular Fellowship
The CWU Secular Fellowship aims to provide a safe environment for atheist, agnostic, humanist,
and non-religious students to meet, share ideas, and have fun. The CWU Secular Fellowship is a student
group affiliated with the Kittitas Valley Unitarian Universalist congregation. Meaning, this group will
respect the seven principles of Unitarian Universalism. Which include acknowledging the worth and
value of every person, as well as responsible free and responsible search for truth for each individual.

CWU Startup
The CWU startup bean with a goal to inspire creativity and innovation among young
entrepreneurs of Central Washington University. We hold a fundamental belief in the power of
technology to transform industry and help solve complex problems.
CWU Trumpet Club
The CWU Trumpet Club is designed for all members of the trumpet studio as well as anyone
who plays trumpet and simply wishes to be more involved in our activities. Our major event
every year is our Trumpet Fest, where we bring in guest clinicians, vendors, and also host the
National Trumpet Competition for high school soloists. Our goal by organizing this event is to
bring in prospective students and to give our currents studio members a chance to interact with
world-class trumpet players and an opportunity to perform in both master classes and with
comrades, as well as in the culminating finale performance.
CWU Tuba/ Euphonium Club
The Central Washington University Tuba/ Euphonium Club is made up of members who play
either the Tuba or Euphonium or both. Since we are a fairly new club all of our members last
year were from the music department’s Tuba/ Euphonium studio. This year, we have many
more ideas of how to make our club better and more recognizable so that we can get other
members outside of the music department to join.
What our club does is get together and discuss the Tuba and Euphonium. We also play together
and just hang out and have a lot of music related fun. Our Tuba/ Euphonium choir does concerts
open to the public in the recital hall. Some of our members do recitals and also recitals with
Tuba/ Euphonium quartets. We also travel and do solo and quartet competitions out of state
like last year we competed at the University of Montana and two of our members won the
competitions. This year we intend on traveling to the University of Idaho in the Spring for the
regional international Tuba/ Euphonium contest.
The CWU Urban Beekeeping Society
This club is a welcome resource for students to learn about bees and their important role in the
environment, to learn about bees’ behavior and their biology, as well as how to maintain a hive and to
keep bees themselves in an urban environment. This club’s goals are to regularly meet to observe, and
maintain a local beehive, and to promote greater awareness of bees and their world-wide plight on
campus.
CWU USITT Student Chapter
CWU USITT is a student chapter of the national organization. We are dedicated to furthering the
technical theatre knowledge to any students willing to join at Central Washington University.
We do student teaching as well as the incorporation of professors to teach basic and advanced
materials to students. We also do students led workshops and learnings trips to see different
theatrical productions to get a taste of the aesthetics and experience of others. Our goal is to
further knowledge of others and ourselves to help students interested in a career in technical
theatre or those who are hungry to learn.
Cyber Security and Ethical Hacking Club
The purpose of our club is foster understanding about security principles and issues relating to
cyber security, educate students in the basics of network and software protection as well as the
ethics involved in compromising unsecure systems. The club will organize study groups for
various network and security certifications. We eventually will compete in cyber defense
competitions and hackathons and host security awareness events on campus. All students that
have a thirst for knowledge and seek excellence In the field of cyber security are welcome!
Drone Club
As a club we want to foster community and interest in UAV’s with members contributing
content, skills and ideas. We will learn to build, program and design customizable drone aircrafts.
Learning to fly and use the equipment safely and properly is a primary quality we will impose into our
purpose. The club will operate and inform by the local and federal FAR’s/laws pertaining to drone
aircrafts. Members will have opportunities to utilize drones and their skills in a competition or creative
setting.
Economic Association
To provide social support, personal development, and professional networking
opportunities to all students interested in economics. Activates: pop econ videos, wall street

Electric Vehicle Club
The purposes of the Electric Vehicle Club student chapter are to provide students with an
opportunity to explore aspects of electric vehicle construction and control to better develop their
professional skills in relation to mechanical and electrical systems. Members of this student chapter will
gain a better insight into what aspects of manufacturing and design constraints are utilized in
lightweight vehicle design.
EMPIRE
EMPIRE stands for Extraordinary Men Pursuing Intellectual Readiness through Education. As a
congregation we focus on three pillars: Scholarship, Mentorship, and Service. Through these we strive
for academic excellence, being responsible young adults in society, and providing help to our community
and those surrounding us. This club helps all members with their academics through study tables and
helps achieve their goal of further education. All persons are welcome to join this club.
English Graduate Student Association (EGSA)

Exercise Science
The intent of Exercise Science Club is to promote wellness and enhance the components of
education by conducting activities that lead to a positive lifestyle that are characterized by physical
activity and other healthy behaviors. It also serves to enhance the educational experience in the exercise
science field by providing opportunities to attend conferences, take part in field related discussions, and
be involved in events that promote health, wellness, and physical activity.

Students either pursuing a minor or major in Family and Consumer Sciences are eligible to
participate in the Family and Consumer Sciences Student Association at CWU. As a club we seek to give
service to the community, while representing Family and Consumer Sciences. We provide opportunities
for personal development and preparation for our future profession in Family and Consumer Sciences.
Our club is a great way for students pursuing similar career interests to discuss and support each other
on our journey to our careers.
Family Studies Club
The purpose of the undergraduate Family Studies Club is for Family Studies majors and minors
to get the opportunity to be involved in a regular meeting where they are updated with news about
fundraising, can be involved in discussions regarding the major, and to expand the field of Family
Studies. The goals of the club are to plan fundraising opportunities, educate new majors/minors on the
field of Family Studies, to update majors/minors on any upcoming events regarding the Family Studies
Club and plan for conferences and funds requests. The club will meet the first and the third Monday of
every month and will be held at 4 PM in Michaelson Hall, room 207.
Family Studies Graduate Club
The purpose of the Family Studies and Graduate Club is to promote graduate study and
research, to develop professional attitudes and networking skills, and to stimulate scholarship and
leadership toward the betterment of the individual, department, and community. The members will
strive to implement ideas into the community as well as share information learned with surrounding
classes and programs at CWU. Members will also strive to submit contributions via rendering local
fundraising and services both within the larger and campus communities. The club will seek to provide
opportunities for professional growth through contact with local family services, national corporations,
conference attendance and local affiliates.

CWU Feminist Club
CWU Feminist Club is an organization based on the ideas of inclusive feminism and includes
people of all genders and sexual identities. Our goals for the year include collaborations with VOX,
Equal, and other clubs that promote equal opportunity as well as promoting information on feminism
and the different struggles faced by women today. Planned events for the year include Slut Walk,
participation in Rock Against Rape, and the continued help and planning in Sexapalooza, an event
focused on safe sex and the different resources on campus. In addition to major events, Feminist Club
would convene around campus to have discussions about world events and national news regarding the
rights of women and the achievements of women.
Graduate Association of School Psychology (GASP)
CWU GASP is organized to assist future school psychology students in building foundations in
research and connections in the school psychology field. The club will provide educational opportunities
and help ensure all members can receive assistance with research and funding. In addition, the club will
aim to raise awareness of the school psychology profession.
GEEC
GEEC, or Gamers Enjoying Each-others Company, is a club dedicated to bringing the students of
CWU a fun, safe, and inclusive gaming community. We play everything from board games to card games
to tabletop RPG’s and were excited to share in our fun! We provide students an opportunity to explore
and discover their interests while becoming a part of a tight knit community. We meet every Thursday
at 5:00PM in Black 202. Can’t wait to see you there!

The reason for the club is to network with colleagues, and to further the academic achievement
of our members.
Happiness Club
The purpose of Happiness Club is to explore happiness by learning and doing in order to create
personal definitions of happiness, as well as create a positive environment. The clubs main goal is to
spread positivity to others in many different ways. Because happiness can be subjective, we plan to find
a variety of activities and discussions that will hit home for all different types of people. Meetings will
include discussions of personal happiness and ways to spread that to others. Events will include
activities that involve spreading kindness and positivity to the CWU community (i.e. free giveaways, free
activities for students). The club is also very much involved with community service in communities all
across the state. Overall, this club is determined to challenge people to look at life with a positive
aspect.
CWU’s Hip-Hop at its Finest
The purpose of the club is to give artists, and performers, and people who are interested in hiphop culture a safe environment in which they will be able to grow and perfect their own personal
talents. In this club we really want to put an emphasis on performing and learning more about the
history of hip-hop. The goals of Hip-Hop at its Finest are to help everyone become better at their specific
talent (dancing, rapping, singing, producing, etc.), get some performing experience, and gain an overall
confidence within themselves. Through this club you can also make a lot of new connections on campus,
and find people with similar interests. Also this club can give you the opportunity to work with different
people with a root in hip-hop. Hip-Hop at its Finest wants to get the CWU community involved as much
as possible and show them who we are as a club.

Later Day Saint Student Association (LDSSA)
To encourage and support members of the LDSSA in achieving their academic goals and
maintaining a balanced life while on campus, Become an influence for good by participating in activities
and service on campus and in the community. Also to provide student with meaningful service
opportunities and social and religious activities that are consistent with the LDSSA standards and
promote traditional moral values. Associated with The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
Membership is also open to all students enrolled at Central Washington University.
Lynwood International Cultural Club
The purpose of this club is to exchange cultures within many different countries. We want to
promote diversity on campus. We also want to build community with international students in CWU.
This year our club would like to increase the number of participants and build leadership, confidence,
and team skills.
Kappa Sigma Fraternity
Kappa Sigma is an all men’s college fraternity. Its goals are many, but all center on the
promotion of leadership, scholarship, fellowship and service. The objective of this organization is to
excel in all phases of fraternal and student activities at CWU. To fulfill this objective, the development of
scholarship, leadership, community service, social presence, and cultural awareness are encouraged and
stressed. It is each community member’s duty to work diligently toward these objectives so that when
our members leave school they can become contributing individuals of society. In all, few may equal but
none will excel the ideal virtue of Kappa Sigma.
International Club
The purpose of our International Club is to try and bring together people from different
nationalities. We want to be able to bring several people together and learn about each other’s cultures.
We are all interested in hearing about one another’s country, culture and languages.
CWU JEN
The purpose of this club shall be (a) to conduct programs and activities to enrich the jazz
education experience of CWU students; (b) to share our love of jazz music with each other and the
Ellensburg community; (c) host events including—but not limited to—jazz jams, listening sessions and
guest musicians to give clinics and performances; (d) support the jazz studies division of the CWU music
department by helping provide finances to bring guest artists to campus, as well as travel for jazzrelated events.
Recent events we have hosted include weekly jazz jams at Cornerstone Pie in Ellensburg,
assisting in bringing guest artists to campus, as well as sending six club members to attend the Jazz
Education Network’s national conference in Dallas, Texas.

Lambda Pi Eta
Lambda Pi Eta National Communication Honor Society, is a prestigious honor society designed to
focus primarily on professional development, community service, campus and community involvement,
and preparation for members’ futures. This is including but not limited to: careers, internships, and
graduate school. Each spring, Lambda Pi Eta also travels to Coeur d’Alene, Idaho to attend and
participate in the Northwest Communication Association annual conference. As Lambda Pi Eta
flourishes, it is the goal of the organization to help leave a lasting legacy of honor, excellence, and
service to the community of CWU, the community of Ellensburg, and beyond.
Law and Justice Club
The Law and Justice Club encourages anyone who is motivated in the fields of criminal justice or
law to participate in our club and our club represents the Law and Justice Department at CWU. The Law
and Justice Club seeks to give the opportunity for students to expand their community relations and
connections in order to become well-rounded and experienced individuals in the field of law and justice.
The Law and Justice Club accomplishes this by providing community service, organizing career
information nights, and traveling education. We strive for community service every quarter, including
the annual Behind the Badge 5K Run.
Mariachi Club
It shall be the purpose of CWU’s Mariachi Club to develop Mexican traditional folk music skills.
CWU’s Mariachi Club will recruit music students interested in preforming folk ensemble proformances
such as: ranchera, son de mariachi, huapango de mariachi, polka, corrido, and other musical forms.
CWU’s Mariachi Club members will attend and preform for CWU students. CWU students will increase
Mechanical Contractors Association (MCA)
The purpose of the MCA student chapter at CWU is to bring education, interest and
understanding of the mechanical field to students pursuing degrees in construction management,
mechanical engineering technology, industrial engineering technology, and safety and health.
Motion Picture Club
The primary goal of Central Washington University’s Motion Picture Club is to present
opportunities for students, film major or not, to experience the incredibly rewarding, and expansive,
process of making a movie. Whether it’s writing, directing, acting, filming, editing, or being a valued
crew member on-set, anyone who’s interested in any particular aspect of the filmmaking process can
expand their knowledge and then use that knowledge to make a film of their own. A good film happens
when a strong team takes a unique idea and executes it well. It’s our hope in Motion Picture Club that
budding filmmakers have an opportunity to show what they can do when given proper resources. More
experienced filmmakers will benefit from a solid foundation of crewmembers and actors and will also be
able to share the knowledge they’ve already acquired.
National Association for Music Educators
The National Association for Music Educators is dedicated in producing the best music teachers
possible. This group is made up of nearly one hundred enthusiastic people. We provide resources and
opportunities for our members to work with current teachers that are in the field by bringing in
clinicians, advertising events, and attending annual conferences. We not only produce great educators
but increase exposure of music to all ages. That is ultimately our goal as well as providing more
opportunities for our members to get teaching experience.
National Society of Scabbard and Blade
Club description: An accelerated development program empowering the next generation of leaders by
way of the five stars- Honor, Leadership, Professionalism, Officership, Unity.
Namakemono Anime Club
The anime club studies Japanese culture through its animated medium. Club activities include
going to the Sakura-con, movie nights, and trips to the Seattle for various festivals. We meet in Black

NATS
The CWU student chapter of the National Association of Teachers of Singing is a club focused on
reaching out the students and faculty across campus that have an interest in vocal music and to expose
them to the many forms and styles that vocal music can be enjoyed. As a club, our goal is to expand our
knowledge and gain exposure to new forms of the art by attending performances and providing
performance opportunities for those involved in the club. CWU NATS also strives to build unity amongst
singers, and sue vocal music in community service opportunities to serve and better the Ellensburg and
Central Washington University Community.
Northwest Collegiate Ministries
Northwest Collegiate Ministries is a club that believes in Jesus as the Son of God and Savior of
the world. We study the Bible as God’s word and meet various times in a week to study it and learn
more from it. Making connections with all sorts of people on campus who we can serve, help and
befriend is a huge focus for us. Throughout a quarter we plan various events and activities that will
provide a setting for people to visit us and get to see God through hour lives. Serving the community of
Ventral and of Ellensburg is another way we look to spend our time and make a difference in our world.
We strive to live by example, hoping that people will see something different about the way we live.
Northwest Collegiate Ministries is a club that loves God, loves people and serves both!
Neuroscience Club
The Central Neuroscience Club consists of objectives that serve both members of the club as
well as the people that make up our community. Considering that Central Washington University does
not have a neuroscience program, we believe that it is important that this club is successful so that
those students, especially those that are psychology majors, are aware of the field and its study. Many
times psychology is the introduction people get before they are introduced to neuroscience.
We strive to bring a new dimension of learning through the promotion of knowledge to our
community in various ways, bringing speakers to discuss special topics of interest, as well as having
showings of films that are relevant to neuroscience. This is a conjunction with club meetings that include
article discussions, event planning and other such activities. It is primary that the club serves its
members by fulfilling their expectations of the club and serving their needs as they progress through
their academic career and to be able to continue on to their desired profession. The understanding of
brain functionality can benefit all people within our outside psychology and neuroscience so people
from all majors and studies are welcome to participate in our ever growing group that is the Central
Neuroscience Club.

National Society of Collegiate Scholars
The National Society of Collegiate Scholars (NSCS) is an honors organization that recognizes and
elevates academic achievers. NSCS provides networking opportunities, offers leadership and service
experience, and awards scholarships. NSCS members are deeply committed to scholarship and service,
and endeavor to impact their campus and local communities in a meaningful way.
NSCS works with the appropriate office at each school to identify eligible students for NSCS
membership. We invite first- and second-year college students who have a GPA of 3.4 or higher. This
puts them in the top 20% of students nationally. NSCS chapters plan activities like networking events,
social gatherings, and community service projects. However, there is no minimum involvement
requirement or time commitment for NSCS membership.
The CWU chapter of NSCS meets every Wednesday at 4 pm in the SURC 236 conference room,

Nutrition Science Club
CWUNSC provides a framework for meaningful student involvement and to stimulate interest in
the profession of dietetics and food science. Membership is open to all CWU students with an interest in
eating well! CWUNSC focuses on community and student involvement by seeking to raise nutritional
awareness and give back to students and community members. There will be many opportunities for
volunteering, as well as help in understanding the process of dietetic internships and other hurdles in
the world of professional nutrition. CWUNSC seeks to help our nutrition students excel and to inform

Physical Education and School Health Club
Mission
Our mission is to promote health and active lifestyles in students and communities through our
involvement on and off of campus.
Vision
The reason for forming this organization is to serve as advocates for physical education and school
health at the state and national level. We will also by provide a positive environment in order to
socialize, engage, in educational advancement and increase community awareness at Central
Washington University. This organization shall not discriminate on the basis of race, religion, national
origin, ethnicity, color, age, gender, marital status, citizenship, sexual orientation, or disability. We strive
to achieve and maintain global recognition for facilitating innovative and passionate teaching, relevant
research, and life-enhancing service. We will create a student-centered environment in which
individuals can develop the skills, the knowledge, and the dispositions necessary to be exceptional in
their respective fields.

Open to all students. Those who participate in activities, attend meetings, and volunteer on a regular
basis and are part of the PESH Major will receive points for state and National conferences.
Percussion Club
The Percussion Club is made up of Percussion Majors from Central Washington University’s
outstanding music department. As a club, we perform one concert a quarter and participate in the
Northwest Percussion Festival every year. We also participate in the CWU marching band and perform
at the home football games. We meet every Tuesday at 2PM in the concert hall to perform for each
other, as well as discuss upcoming events. As a club, we will provide music for the community, in
compliance with our community service hours.
Pre-Pharmacy Club
The intent of the Pre-Pharmacy Club is to serve as a group of students at Central Washington
University all interested in pursuing post bachelor’s degrees all relating to the study of pharmaceuticals.
The primary objective of the pre-pharmacy club is to prepare students for their applications and
interviews for pharmacy school. Another goal of the pre-pharmacy club is to put on events and inform
students of potential pharmacy assistant jobs or volunteer opportunities, pre-pharmacy scholarships
and research position opportunities. Finally, the pre-pharmacy club wants to help its members complete
all the appropriate courses needed to pursue futures in pharmacy, pharmacology and medicinal
chemistry.
Public Relations Student Society of America
PRSSA is a pre-professional organization that offers many local, regional, and national
opportunities and events. All of these opportunities help to aid those wishing to be a part of the public
relations profession to expand their skill sets and to network with other members and professionals.
Benefits of being a PRSSA member include exclusive internships, numerous travel opportunities, and
access to top professionals in the PR industry. Meetings range from socials with club members to
workshops of interviewing and trends in the PR world.
Psychology Club
The CWU Psychology Club is a great way to learn about people and prepare for life after
graduation. We have tree primary purposes: a) educate students about professional psychology, b)
provide great social opportunities for students, and c) encourage membership in Psi Chi (the
international, psychology honors society). We have specials seminars on zombies, volunteer
opportunities, fundraisers, and special opportunities to advance knowledge in psychology and what

Public Policy Club
The Public Policy Club is a club that is dedicated to bringing together students from all
backgrounds who have an interest in public policy, societal workings, politics, and other political science
fields. The primary objective of this club is to promote discussion and share new ideas on both current

Resonate Church Club
Resonate church exists to encourage healthy communities of Christians that have a positive
impact on the community around us. This includes aspects of community which are relational, missional,
communal, and truthful.
Russian Language Club
The Russian Language Club is designed to allow those students who are interested in the Russian
language and culture to come together and discuss that interest. Routine club activities include watching
Russian movies, discussion of culturally and historically significant events, both recent and long past, and
helping each other with homework from our Russian classes. One of our most important goals is
ensuring that everyone who attends comes away with a better understanding of Russia and its language.
Chemistry Club and Student Affiliate of the American Chemical Society Purpose
The purpose of this organization shall be to provide an opportunity for students in or interested
in the sciences to become better acquainted with the subject matter, and to promote a continuous
active interest in educating others about the sciences through demonstrations and activities.
Furthermore, the club will strive to secure the intellectual stimulation that arises from professional
association to the sciences, to foster a professional spirit among members, the university and the
community at large, and to instill a professional pride in the sciences in order to further educate any and
all that wish to know more about the sciences. The club will also foster an awareness of the
responsibilities, challenges, and opportunities in modern science to any and all that are interested. The

Salt
Salt is a community of CWU students following Jesus and seeking to be a blessing to the campus
of CWU and the Ellensburg community. We gather on Tuesday nights at 7PM at 1407 N. B ST…but there
is a lot more to Salt than our gatherings.
Saudi Students Association
Saudi Students Association purpose is represent the Saudi society and to communicate with
students from different nationalities at Central Washington University, as well as civil society of
Ellensburg. The club is one of the important ways to define the civilization, the history and the heritage
of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia thought the club’s cultural and media activity’s, sports and social
programs at Central Washington University. The club will help new Saudi students learn about the
American Culture and adapt to the life in the United Sates. The club will also serve as a connection
between Saudi Students and the Cultural Mission of the Royal Embassy of the Kingdom of Saudi Aribia in
case any student faces a problem and need help.
Student Council for Exceptional Children
Who we are: We are future teachers that work on cultivating our skills to improve the educational
success of individuals with disabilities and/or gifted and talented.
What we do: We are an active and growing club who participates in yearly events such as Boo Central
and Holiday Extravaganza. We also plan and put on an event towards the end of each year.
Who can join: EVERYONE!! You do not need to be in the Education program to participate with SCEC.
We encourage students from all departments to spread awareness for children with exceptionalities.
Why Join: Help us bring awareness! We focus on providing future educators and others with powerful
information to interact with students of disabilities. We host discussions on collaboration, advanced
technology, and inspiring educational success stories. We provide multiple volunteer opportunities and

The student Council for Exceptional Children’s club is about advocating for students with
exceptionalities and gifted talents. We bring forth ideas that will help better the education that is
provided to all students, and especially those with disabilities. Our focus for this year is to encourage

Service Learning and Leadership Club
The Service Learning and Leadership Club provides opportunities to students to gain leadership
skills and knowledge through experience. We provide service to the community. Learning about
fundraisers and service projects. The ultimate goal is to travel to Guam with our experiences learned
and provide service to under privileged youth camps. Club meetings will be held on Friday’s at either
9am or 12 pm in Purser Foyer.
SISTERS!
As woman of color at Central Washington University, we formed SISTERS to provide a safe place
for woman of color to discuss and address their struggles and experiences in our society. Our mission is
to uplift woman of color by promoting awareness of issues affecting woman, by developing a sisterhood,
and by giving woman of color at Central Washington University a voice in our community. To accomplish
these goals, we must develop confidence in ourselves and in our sisters.
Spanish Club
Spanish Club is a great place where anybody can come, practice Spanish, spend time with their
peers, and make connections with their community. It is a safe and positive environment that welcomes
students of all Spanish-Speaking levels. Our goal in Spanish Club is to educate students in the Hispanic
culture and the Spanish language. Additionally, we want to educate our community about different
aspects of Hispanic culture and its influence on the world, specifically in the United States. One of our
goals is to participate in at least one community service project each quarter as a club, as well as
complete our quarterly 10 “event hours”.
We plan to do meet the goals above through community service projects, food celebration
nights, Spanish conversation nights, Spanish movie nights, inviting guest speakers and musicians to
come perform, celebrating traditional Hispanic holidays, and working cooperatively not only with the
CWU community, but the communities in the surrounding area.
Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM)
Our organization’s purpose is to help students obtain employment in the field of their choice
after graduation. We will work on strengthening and learning new skills to help in our future HR
professions.
The purpose of the chapter shall be as follows:




To acquaint students with Human Resource Management ideas and issues
To keep students up-to-date on new developments in the field of Human Resource
Management
To develop a nucleus of professional individuals who have a concern for Human Resource
principles
To encourage members to associate with professionals in the business community
SHRM membership meeting is scheduled on every other Tuesday at 5:45PM Shaw-Smyser. At each
meeting, a member from the professional committee speaks to the club on a topic of their choice
relating to the Human Resource Management field. All students are encouraged to attend our meetings.
Society of Manufacturing Engineers
SME is a student chapter of the professional organization SME headquarted in Dearborn, MI. Its
purpose is to provide an organization through which students can find technical information and
support on manufacturing processes and applications, networking opportunities with industry
professionals, as well as scholarships, student contests, events, programs, and certification. The club is
also a venue through with IT, MET, and EET students can gain opportunities to design, build and test
their projects they may be working on for their senior project and/or other clubs.
The club will meet once a month in the Hogue Tech building in conjunction with the Electric
Vehicle Club. Meeting days, times and location will be posted throughout Hogue.
Society of Physics Students
The Society of Physics Students is dedicated to raising community awareness and interest in
both physics and the natural sciences. We constantly interact with the community through
presentations and activities for people of all ages. Behind the scenes, we work on improving our
understanding on physics by engaging ourselves in projects that apply and broaden classroom concepts.
Avobe all, we are a group who strives to help ourselves and others meet our full potential.
Central’s Stammtisch
The goal of Central’s Stammtisch is to educate our community about different aspects of
German culture and its influence in the world specifically the United States. Another goal is to
participate in at least one community service project each quarter as a club.
Student Artist Collective (SAC)
The purpose of SAC is to give art students- and those interested in art- a forum for organizing
activities, planning trips, art related events and guest lecturers and artists.
Our goals are to put on workshops and travel events that will create active learning
environments for art students, as well as practical experience and professional development.
SAC also intends to function as an umbrella organization for other art clubs to facilitate and
assist them in organizing.
The Student Fashion Association
The Student Fashion Association is a group of students who are interested, passionate, and
dedicated to studying fashion, either as Apparel, Textiles and Merchandising major or minor or as a
fashionable inclined students of another major. We are where friends, fun and fashion collide. Our
mission is to give our members as many real life insights into the fashion industry as possible. Through
fashion focused community service projects, personal projects and fundraising for our annual out-ofstate trip to industry capitals such as New York City, Los Angeles, and Las Vegas. These trips serve as a
stepping stone for members to get an inside look at the industry.
Supply Chain Management Association (SCMA)
SCMA is dedicated to creating networking opportunities for all students interested in all things
supply chain related. Every quarter SCMA hosts guest speakers from businesses interested in filling
positions within their company. We are also allowed access to see first-hand the internal workings of
many companies through guided tours. SCMA participates in conferences such as Council for Supply
Chain Management Professionals and Institute for Supply Chain Management, which provide great
interaction with business professionals currently in the field.
Our members are active in career fairs, resume writing workshops, internship and employment
application assistance, mock interviews, and business etiquette discussions. We even participate in case
study competitions such as Operation Stimulus, which is a national even that takes place in Denver, and
the Boeing Case Competition, which takes place in Seattle.
Student Washington Education Association (SWEA)
SWEA is a club that gets involved in activities concerning education. One of our goals is to
inform our members about the current education issues that the Washington Education Association and
union are involved with. In addition, we educate CWU students about the teaching certification
program. We also want to give back to the Ellensburg community by creating and participating in
activities where members can interact with students in the community.

The Inklings
The Inklings is Central Washington University’s creative writing club. Open to all CWU students,
The Inklings promotes the art of creative writing in all forms, including poetry, fiction, non-fiction,
screenwriting, playwriting, and journalism. Members will be able to network with other writers through
peer edits, seminars, guest speakers, publications, and festivals. Associated with the CWU English
department, The Inklings encourages collaboration with other disciplines in the Arts and Humanities
department at CWU to create student driven projects and events that integrate creative writing with

Western ITAM
The purpose of this club is to provide a venue for club members to support each other’s
professional growth in information technology and administrative management. Club goals include the
following: Bring ITAM students together to hear presentations by industry professionals, develop
networking opportunities, and provide recognition for ITAM student achievements at graduation
VOICE Club
The mixed vocals group, Fantastic Forte, was formerly and all female “no fella” a Capella group
known as The Pretty Pitches. This year we decided, due to several factors, to mix vocals, recruiting more
of a bass section and welcoming members of all gender identities, including those outside of the binary.
We are now a 12-member strong group, working to produce songs mostly of the pop genre that
appeal to our college-aged peers. We, besides singing in on-campus events, have performed and will be
performing again at the International Competition of Collegiate a Capella (ICCAs) which were hosted by
Pacific Lutheran University in Tacoma, WA and will be hosted at Western Washington University in
Bellingham, WA.
Our president, Jourdyn Payne also acts as lead director. Our vice president, Kim Roberts, also
acts as our musical director, leading warm ups and helping to decide songs for the set. Our secretary,
Brittany Allen, also acts as our media director, keeping our multiple social media outlets up to date,
helping with paperwork, taking minutes, and notes at rehearsals and creating promotional materials.
Our senator is Megan “Pythe” Courter and our alternate senator is Maddie Dugan.
Our set list to date includes songs such as Meghan Trainor’s hit, “All About That Bass,” Kansas’
“Carry on Wayward Son,” and One Republic’s “Counting Stars,” with a variety of members on solos and
our president, Jourdyn Payne, as vocal percussion. We will be adding songs to expand our repertoire
throughout the year and performing once every quarter.
VOX: Voices for Planned Parenthood
VOX: Voices for Planned Parenthood is the student advocacy arm of Planned parenthood at
CWU. Our fundamental goals are to educate the student population on t reproductive rights and health
as well as to inform student of the services available to them within the community. We also seek to
provide safe friendly, informative environment for students to discuss reproductive health and sexuality.
Politically, we lobby the state legislator to ensure access to comprehensive sex education, funding for
low-income health care that many students rely upon, and serve as an advocate on reproductive health
issues for the students of CWU.
