DANCE NOTES FROM MONDAY 3/17 Many, many good things happening. I really value the focus and attention to detail everyone is giving. Please read all notes as what affects, one affects all. 7 - Work The Wedding (specifics listed below) PROLOGUE Jay/Jack - Stay in tempo with your entrance walk until you get to your station. Men - Really good sledgehammer action and exit. Sierra/Sarah/Chance - Much better entrance. (Sarah - Wait just a second longer in your turned position to let them catch up a little, but it does not need to be much.) Good job! AT THE END OF THE DAY *Caroline - See me about your cross. * Nick/Anna /Melissa/Jake/Megan - See me about changing your positions to be on the set. All - Great timing on entrance after "counting their blessings." THE DOCKS Women - Clump when you cross US at Javert's entrance. No lines. CASTLE Jillian - Remember to start with the stool DS and work your way up the table. We need to see your face as you are taking the stools off the table. INNKEEPER'S SONG All - As soon as Gina is done singing we should hear you. All - MUCH MORE and LOUDER entrance. Bobby/Anna/Ann/David - Thank you for the shift. It worked very well. Dean/Robert - Pull a step SR during Customer #1 (Matt). Douglas -Can you lift what you take from Chris up so we can see it? Gina/Douglas - Need a sense that you want to pilfer Jay's boots and are stealing them not just removing them for his comfort. Douglas - Bigger twist of bird's head. **Douglas/Jay - Is there something, an interaction, when you sit on table? Let's talk. Gina/Douglas/Jay - Cross further DS for the weave. All - LOUDER and MORE VOCAL ENERGY after the dance/before Gina's solo. Bobby/Halen - Pull US of USR table during Gina's solo. All - Still a big line at mid stage during Gina's solo. All - Much bigger reactions to Gina's jokes. Gina - Loved your interaction with your team but come to front corner of table for it instead of SL side. All on Douglas' team - Clump more around him instead of so spread out along the table. All - Permission for much more drunken revelry especially sound...please!!! Jillian - Remember to spin left away from Jean Valjean. THE BEGGARS Craig - Can you pull further DS during Gavroche's solo? *Sanjay/Nick -See me about your solo section. ONE DAY MORE Stephen - Cross focus works but not so severe. Look at furthest back exit sign in house. We don't want it to look as if you are focused on Cosette. Megan - Let Philip cross DS of you on running entrance. Ken-Matt - Feet still too close together on march. All - Energy of march is good. *Stephen - Make sure you are on #4 during column march. THE WEDDING Ladies - Make sure to position arm not holding onto your partner on your entrance. *All - We need to work the first section with Brenton just after the group vocal/mic check. *Katy/Stephen - Instead of Cosette doing the soutentu turn, I would like it to be. Ballroom under arm turn. Let's work this please. Stephen - You have time to say a proper good bye to Cosette before you meet the Thenardiers. That needs to be a bigger moment for which we have the time. Ken-Matt/Ann - You cannot dip your body or joined hands during any of the steps. First trio spacing - Craig and Megan in the window with other two couples on same line. Second trio of dancers - Getting into position a little too soon. Halen/Phil - Make sure to stay in diagonal during the second trio Dance. You are too far center. Also you are too far DS on the wrap-rotate section. *All - Take time with your partner to review wrap-rotation. ***Douglas/Gina/Waltzers - We need to revisit the "prince-Jew-queer" section. ***All - We need to check spacing for the "Master of the House" section. Brad - Left hand behind back when you are on the end of the line of five. FINALE All - We are leaving the table and chair in the scene so be aware. All - Thank you for the changes. They work very well. Mike-Jack/Ken-Matt - Make a little tighter triangle shape and be DS of JVJ/Eponine/Fantine. Katy/Stephen/Gina/Douglas/Mike/Jack/Ken-Matt - You can take until the trio arrives DSC to finish your crosses. Suggested better solution had a little bit Jay - Move up one step on the ladder. Anne F - Shift in to center just a bit.
