Hi Theresa,
Both HUM 3345W and HUM 475C are being discontinued after this summer, and won't be in
the catalog anymore. For REL 390, let's do the same thing we did with ARH 145--2 repeats
max with different content/topics but they can't be takin in the same semester.

Hi Theresa,
Please document in the system that students can repeat the 490C seminar up to two
times with different content/topics (unless trying again for grade replacement
purposes). If it repeating students are "taking seats" away from other students who
need the capstone requirement, this rule will be revisited.

Teressa, this is a graduate level course which is taught on a very irregular basis (normally when we are
testing out a special course in preparation for putting in a regular course) and as a consequence the
need for repeat credit has not come up. However, since we have the opportunity to designate it as
being available for multiple credits, would you please put in that it can be repeated twice as long as the

The ADM689 course is the capstone project for students in the M Admin Program. It
uses various topic titles depending on the student's emphasis area within the M Admin
Program.
If repeats are to be allowed, my suggestion is the least amount of repeats (2).

Subject: RE: HON course repeat for credit
Hi, Theresa:
Would a student be able to take these two offerings of HON 242 in the same term? I guess that a student
technically could take two offerings of 242 in the same term, but that, I imagine (based on our new curriculum
requirements) would be quite unlikely. I think we’re unlikely to offer two different topics of 242 in the same
term.
Would they be able to repeat the course only with different topics or could they repeat and receive
additional credit/grade with the same topic?
A student would only be able to repeat the course with a different topic. And we’ve not offered the 142 and
342 before, explaining why they haven’t shown up on your queries.
Revised 10/10
I’ll look at starting the appropriate UCC paperwork for those 3 classes to be changed to “repeatable for credit.”

Subject: Re: ECI 495C and ECI 551 course repeats
Hi, Theresa,
The class ECI 551 is called Clinical Practice in Reading. This class includes a reading practicum but
this is one of our key classes for the state reading endorsement. ECI 551 is a class, not just a
practicum. This class is not one you can take multiple times. You take it once and receive a grade. If
Extended Campus is using a topics course such as ECI 593 with the topic "reading practicum," then
perhaps EC should call the class something different.
For ECI 495C, this is a secondary student teaching placement. It is not designed to take multiple
times. The student has two chances to pass this class. If the student does not pass, the student will
receiving a Fail and will fail the program requirements to get a degree for teaching in his or her content
area. The student may get a liberal studies degree instead of a teaching degree.
ECI 495C SUPERVISED TEACHING: SECONDARY (12)
Directed teaching in secondary schools and secondary school content areas; directed and cooperative
preparation, teaching, and evaluation; conferences on the theories, issues, and practices in cooperation
with the classroom teacher and university supervisor. Candidates must satisfactorily complete the key
assessment in this course to be eligible to complete the program. Pass-fail only. Course fee required.
Prerequisite: Secondary Education Milestone or ISTEP Student Group or SITE Student Group. CTE
majors only - NOCTI Milestone CAP
It hope this helps. Let me know if you have other questions.
Best wishes,
Sandy
