President’s Report – Cheral Jones

Introductions, general housekeeping topics.
Recognized the public procurement entities in attendance.
Welcomed the 35 new chapter members who have joined in 2014.
Recognized the 2014 CPPB and CPPO recipients.
Noted the 2015 NIGP Forum in Kansas City, Missouri, and that the Washington Chapter has
scholarship funding available for this event.
Treasurer’s Report – Josh Klika
o How we did in 2014:
o It was a good year.
o Exceeded revenue by 10%.

What is projected for 2015:
o New scholarship funding available.
o New funding for a procurement summit.
o Pulling from existing funds for new opportunities.
The Chapter is hoping to host a reverse trade show. The line item in the budget for this was
obtained using quotes for the venue and other operational cost. The Chapter is hoping to cover all
expenses with revenue from registration fees.
Motion was made by Barry Scott, City of Kirkland, for the approval of the budget as presented.
Seconded by Theresa Teschlog, Community Tranist.
o Motion brought to a vote of the Chapter Members.
 Chapter Members approved budget as presented.
The budget is available on the Chapters web site.
o Monthly reports are available with the latest information.
Committee Reports

Public Relations and Marketing Committee - Sue Ownby & Jessica Smith
o There is an update to social media. Slides are available on the Chapter web site for review.

Education and Research Committee – Theresa Teschlog and Mark Little
o The spring schedule is planned.
o The fall schedule is to be determined.
o Reminder - Certificates for Chapter trainings will not be provided in class. They are available to
print from the Chapter web site, once you log into your profile. Only people attending the class
will obtain a certificate.
o Spring classes noted:
 Public Works training presented by Mike Purdy in Kennewick. They are half way to
meeting the minimum participant requirement.
 Contract Administration training in April in Everett.
 Procurement Summit March 24th in Bellevue. The budget was approved for this, look for
registration soon. This is anticipated to be a full class, early registration was
encouraged.

Policy Advisory Committee –Linda Hodgson
o Introduced the proposed revisions to the Bi-Laws. Copies were provided at each table, however
it is available on the web site for review. Input is due by March 1st. Following the input it will go
out to the Chapter Members for a vote.

Diversity Committee - Timolin Abrom
o Timolin is the new chair.
o No report/updates.

Reverse Trade Show Committee - Ginny Justiniano
o

This is in the planning process.
Anticipating this to create revenue for the Chapter.

Philanthropy/Charitable Events Committee – Cheryl Jones on behalf of Craig Bush
o Past functions have included working at the food bank distribution center.
o Looking for input to expand charitable work outside of King County. Encouraging input for other
local opportunities.

Strategic Plan – Dave Davis
o It is time to re-fresh the plan. Copies of the current plan were provided at each table and the
plan is available on the web site.

The team is seeking interest regarding planning for the next 10 years. A formal request for input
is anticipated to be released soon via email and the Chapter web site.
