The Keele Graduate Scholarship for 2014/25 entrants Provisional Terms and Conditions and Procedure (Please note that, as at 6/12/2013, this document is subject to approval) Welcome to the Keele Graduate Scholarship Scheme. Please read and ensure that you understand the terms and conditions below. If you have any questions, please contact us using the contact details at the end of this document. The Award The Keele Graduate Scholarship is a £500 cash award made to graduates who graduate from any University with a first class honours degree (undergraduate study only) and enrol subsequently on a postgraduate course leading to a named award of at least Postgraduate Diploma level at Keele University. The Scholarship is awarded on a pro-rata basis for part-time and modular study. No application is required. Eligibility will be assessed at the time of application or once the degree classification is confirmed, whichever is soonest. Students who are to receive the award will be notified in writing along with their course offer letter or email. Eligibility In order to receive the Keele Graduate Scholarship, you must fulfil the following criteria: You must have graduated (including students who have completed Keele degrees overseas) with a first class honours degree. Please note that, for this award, only an undergraduate degree (Bachelors) will be considered. We will not consider postgraduate study at any level to be equivalent to first class honours at undergraduate level for the purposes of considering you for the Keele Graduate Scholarship. You must be registered on, and attending, a taught postgraduate course that equates to at least one year’s full-time study at postgraduate level and leads to a named award of at least Postgraduate Diploma level at Keele University. This means, for example, that students who attain, or are registered on, a Postgraduate Certificate course, will not receive an award. Normally, students registered for a Phd or an MPhil are not eligible to receive an award. You must not be taking a course that is partially or fully funded by the Teaching Agency, the NHS or any other organisation. Students taking a PGCE course or the MA in Social Work are not eligible to receive the Keele Graduate Scholarship. Should you withdraw, or be withdrawn from, your studies at Keele either permanently or temporarily, the university reserves the right to claim back the scholarship. Payment The Keele Graduate Scholarship will be paid as a BACS Payment of £500, normally at the end of January in your year of postgraduate study. Withdrawal/suspension/recovery of Scholarship The following may affect your eligibility to (continue to) receive the Keele Graduate Scholarship: a. Course change b. Course failure c. Disciplinary action by the university against you If you do not complete the course of study on which you are registered and the named award is not made, the university reserves the right to recoup any reduction in fees already applied. The University reserves the right to recover any outstanding University debts from any bursary or scholarship awards made to you, which may affect the value of any fee reduction applied.
