Comprehensive Clinical Tuberculosis Course
A four-day intensive course • 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Eastern
October 7 – 10, 2013

Target Audience
The course is designed for physicians, nurses, pharmacists, and field staff who are interested in a multidisciplinary
approach to tuberculosis care.
Course Overview
This four-day intensive course will familiarize the clinician with all the aspects of tuberculosis infection, disease
and clinical care using an interdisciplinary and interactive approach. The curriculum is provided through lecture
and interactive case management sessions. The faculty is selected for their unique skill in encouraging interaction
and building rapport with participants. The atmosphere is relaxed with an expectation that a free exchange of
questions, comments and information will occur.

Upon completion of this course, the participant will:




Understand the current guidelines for the diagnosis, treatment and prevention of tuberculosis.
Identify populations at high risk for LTBI and TB disease, and strategies to target these populations.
Gain expert insight for the medical management of TB, including MDR-TB, pediatric TB, HIV/TB co-infection
and other co-morbidities.
Recognize the roles of the multidisciplinary healthcare professionals needed to provide improved TB care.




Participants must have basic knowledge of tuberculosis.
The course is free but you must pre-register to attend.

Continuing Education
Certificates will be emailed approximately 8 weeks after the course to all participants who requested credits on
their applications and who successfully complete the course. Successful completion includes signing-in each day,
attending the entire course and completing and turning in an evaluation form and participating in one longerterm post-course activity (survey).
Continuing Medical Education
Curry International Tuberculosis Center is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical
Education to provide continuing medical education for physicians. This conference is approved for up to 32.5
continuing education hours.
This activity has been planned and implemented in accordance with the Essential Areas and policies of the
Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education through the joint sponsorship of the Curry International
Tuberculosis Center and the Southeastern National Tuberculosis Center.
The Curry International Tuberculosis Center designates this educational activity for up to 32.5 AMA PRA Category
1 Credits TM. Physicians should only claim credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the
activity.
Continuing Education for Nurses
The Curry International Tuberculosis Center is approved as a provider of continuing education by the California
State Board of Registered Nursing, Provider Number CEP 12308. This conference is approved for up to 32.5
continuing education contact hours.
