Stepping Into Greatness
We have a Great God


Psa. 145:3 Great is the LORD and most worthy of praise; his greatness no one
can fathom.
Psa. 147:5
We have a Great Savior and Lord


Luke 1:32 He will be great and will be called the Son of the Most High.
Titus 2:13 ..the glorious appearing of our great God and Savior, Jesus Christ…
We have a Great Salvation
 Heb. 2:3 how shall we escape if we ignore such a great salvation?
When Jesus left earth, did the greatness stop?
No! He left something great behind. Here is what he said…
John 14:12 I tell you the truth, anyone who has faith in me will do what I have
been doing. He will do even greater things than these, because I am going to the
Father.
Matt. 16:16 …And I tell you that you are Peter, and on this rock I will build my church,
and the gates of Hades will not overcome it.
Eph. 3:21 to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all
generations, for ever and ever! Amen.






We are poised at a crucial moment in our history. We have seen God do amazing
things - But it is the time to move to levels we have never been before.
The LORD our God said to us at Horeb, “You have stayed long enough at this mountain.
Break camp and advance into the hill country… See, I have given you this land. Go in and
take possession of the land that the LORD swore he would give to your fathers—to
Abraham, Isaac and Jacob—and to their descendants after them.” May the LORD, the God of
your fathers, increase you a thousand times and bless you as he has promised! Deut. 1:6-9, 11
It is time for the SFCC and the Palm Beach church to break camp - to break out! To go
places we have never gone before. To step into the greatness that God wants us to
have. We are good in some areas. We are very good in some areas. We are even great
in some areas. But we don’t want to just be good. Or OK. We want to be a GREAT
church that reflects the greatness of our God

HOW WOULD THE PB CHURCH BE DOING IF EVERYONE IN IT WERE LIKE YOU?
Now is the time to Step Into the Greatness God intends for us! What will it take?
1. Personal Prayer & Bible Study – Inside-Out Greatness




Acts 2:42-27, 6:4
Every change begins with prayer. How is your Personal Walk with God?
You have gone as far as you can at your present level of prayer
If you have a troubled marriage, how is your walk with God?
2. Men Rise Up To A New Level


Judges 6 “God is with you Mighty Warrior!”
Men are the ceiling for the church. Gates of hell will not fall unless the church,
led by the Mighty Men of God, assail them.
3. Marriages And Families That Reflect The Plan Of God


Marriage and family: See Eph 5&6
Some are really growing and changing – but others… - arguments,
disagreeing in front of kids, kids being disrespectful, Dads not leading
4. Spirit Of Giving Of The Early Church Pervades Our Membership

Acts 2:42-47, Acts 4, Acts 11 We did great on Special…so many of us are
sacrificial, disciplined. Others are not. We will not be a great church until our
church culture is one of generosity and sacrifice.
5. Restore the Spirit of Evangelism



Acts 2:47 … the Lord added to their number daily those who were being saved.
Acts 8 “those who had been scattered preached the word wherever they went”
Acts 16:5 the churches were strengthened in the faith & grew daily in numbers
6. Our Family Groups Are Real Family


Acts 2:42-47
To be a PB member: Sun. AM, midweek, real attachment to a family group
7. Excellence In All Things Gold and silver and precious stones

1Cor. 3:10-14 But each one should be careful how he builds. For no one can lay
any foundation other than the one already laid, which is Jesus Christ. If any man
builds on this foundation using gold, silver, costly stones, wood, hay or straw,
his work will be shown for what it is, because the Day will bring it to light. It will be
revealed with fire, and the fire will test the quality of each man’s work.

See Exodus 36 – we are now the temple…does God care less about his temple
now than he did then?


