Staff Position Recruitment Touro University Nevada (TUN) is seeking a full-time Clinical/Counseling Psychologist to work collaboratively with the Division of Student Affairs staff and the Student Health Center to ensure the TUN student mental health needs are met. The Clinical/Counseling psychologist is responsible for facilitating the mental health needs of TUN students and Provide advocacy and resource services for the patient. Perform professional work in Clinical/Counseling psychology at a level of professional maturity; provide psycho diagnostic, psychotherapeutic, and consultative services; perform work in prevention, training and/or research. Collect pertinent patient data and coordinates with other team members for appropriate patient intervention. Work cooperatively with care team. Direct Services o Include but are not limited to assessing and treating students and in understanding and coping with emotional and social problems; o maintaining a caseload and providing appropriate student documentation; o facilitating educational and support groups, and referrals; o gathering relevant information pertaining to case issues; writing psychosocial evaluations and treatment plans; o Assuring compliance with agency and governmental practice, ethical, and confidentiality standards; and providing advocacy and resource brokerage services for students. Activities Related to Direct Services o Serves as the primary point of contact for mental health services within the Office of Student Health, to include answering or directing telephone and email inquiries and providing information and training to students, faculty, and staff regarding mental health issues. o Create and maintain a Touro University Nevada Wellness website; o Collaborate with the Institutional Student Health Director and others involved in wellness programming efforts campus wide. Administrative Duties o Participate in the campus Behavior Intervention Team. o Participate in university committee work. o Participate in student events such as, but not limited to, orientation, white coat ceremony, commencement, etc. o Assist with university events as needed which include occasional evening and weekend commitments. QUALIFICATIONS: A PhD/PsyD in Clinical Psychology or Counseling Psychology is required. Two years of related clinical/counseling experience. The potential candidate must be eligible for licensure as a Clinical or Counseling Psychologist in the State of Nevada, as well as training/experience in evidence based practice. EDUCATION, TRAINING AND/OR RELATED EXPERIENCE: Satisfactory completion of internship in Clinical or Counseling Psychology, preferred. Experience working in academic healthcare settings is preferred. Preference given to candidates with experience providing mental health services to graduate and professional students as well as strong clinical assessment and crisis intervention skills. CORE COMPETENCIES: Ability to coordinate the consensus needed to achieve the medical plan for the patient. Understanding of HIPAA and FERPA. Effective oral and written communication skills. Must possess computer skills-window-based applications, to include MS Word, Access and Excel. The Clinical/Counseling Psychologist works independently with minimal supervision, but must also be able to work effectively on a team or as a team leader. This position requires excellent collaborative, writing, speaking, and organizational skills, as well as the ability to prioritize tasks and deadlines, multitask, thrive in a busy environment, and maintain professionalism and confidentiality.
