Student Alumni Council - Application
PURPOSE: The Student Alumni Council (SAC) is an organization that serves as a liaison between
students and the alumni of Queens University of Charlotte. The Student Alumni Council works in
collaboration with Queens Office of Alumni Relations and Annual Giving and seeks to enhance the
relationships between students and alumni by representing and promoting university traditions,
instilling pride, bolstering spirit, fostering community, and educating leaders. The SAC will determine
ways to educate their peers on the Alumni Philosophy in an effort to excite current students about
their responsibilities as future members of the alumni body.
MEMBERSHIP
There will be no cap on SAC membership (Goal membership FY15 = 12 members). Members will
represent the best and brightest students at Queens. Commitment is for a minimum of one academic
year. Once a student becomes a member of SAC, they may serve until they become an alum. If any
student is not fulfilling primary responsibilities of SAC service, they will be asked to meet with the SAC
President to review his/her performance. If changes are not made to reach the adequate level of
commitment, he/she will be asked to step down from the Council.
Membership requirements include:
1. Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 at time of application
2. Must be enrolled in Queens University as a full-time student (i.e. twelve or
more credit hours)
3. Must have demonstrated leadership in academic life, student life and
community service
4. Must participate in an interview conducted by current SAC members
