Previously, he has served as Managing Director, Technology Division at Goldman Sachs in India, and Director, IBM Research - India and Chief Technologist, IBM India/South Asia. As a Senior Manager at the IBM T.J. Watson Research Center, Manish led the team developing system software for the Blue Gene/L supercomputer, for which IBM was awarded a National Medal of Technology and Innovation by US President Barack Obama. Manish holds a Ph.D. degree from the University of Illinois at Urbana Champaign. He has co-authored over 75 papers in international conferences and journals, and has been granted more than 15 US patents. While at IBM, he received an Outstanding Innovation Award, two Outstanding Technical Achievement Awards and the Lou Gerstner Team Award for Client Excellence. Manish is an ACM Fellow. Nischal Piratla XIG Program Manager Nischal Piratla manages Innovation Programs and is responsible for the strategy and roadmap of Innovation for Financial Services, HR & Litigation Services. Before coming back to India in 2010, he was Chief Scientist for Mobile Services & Platforms, at Innovation Development with Deutsche Telekom, USA Lab, with a joint appointment at Deutsche Telekom Labs (T-Labs), Berlin, Germany. He was also associated with the Department of Computer Science, UC Santa Barbara as Adjunct Associate Professor. He started at T-Labs, Berlin in 2005 as a Senior Research Scientist, and in a year founded its first spin-off, Qiro GmbH, and led it as CTO. After the exit of Qiro, he was a Visiting Scholar at Stanford University and returned to T-Labs as Chief Technologist. His previous terms at industry also include Lucent/Avaya Inc. (2000-2002), Seagate (1999-2000) and CMC (1996-97). Nischal considers his knowledge/skills in mathematics and his field of expertise, namely networking, mobile services, recommendation systems and HCI as tools which, when properly brewed with intuition and business logic, lead to fascinating innovations. He has formed and worked with teams from more than ten countries. Nischal holds 4 patents and 35 pending applications in USA, Germany (EU), Israel and India. He has also published various technical papers in journals and conferences, and has an IETF RFC to his credit. He is a Senior Member of IEEE. Shourya Roy Senior Research Scientist and Research Manager Shourya Roy leads the Text and Graph Analytics Research in Xerox Research Centre India where he also leads several initiatives towards innovating for next generation Customer Care services. Shourya's research interest spans Text and Web Mining, Natural Language Processing, Application of Machine Learning and Human Computation. Over the years, Shourya’s work has led to over 25 patent disclosures and over 40 publications in premier journals and conferences. He has taken up different professional roles including Program Committee member in top ranked conferences, Organizer of technical workshops, Editor in reputed Journals, Reviewer of Journal and Conference papers, Advisor to Students etc. Shourya holds Masters Degrees in Computer Science and Business Administration from IIT Bombay and Delhi University respectively. Koustuv Dasgupta Senior Researcher and Area Manager Koustuv Dasgupta manages the Distributed and Mobile Computing group at Xerox Research Centre India (XRCI). In his current role, Koustuv leads research topics that leverage the cloud infrastructure to create large-scale, optimized and sustainable service offerings. His work primarily focuses on the use of novel technologies for improved collaboration, communication, and process optimization in agile enterprises. He is also responsible for growing a competency around mobile and pervasive systems that can be leveraged for solving societal- scale problems and impact multiple domains ranging from improved infrastructure, to better health and education, to increased productivity and engagement. Prior to XRCI, Koustuv was a Research Scientist at the IBM India Research Lab - where he contributed to multiple innovations in the areas of Telecom Service Delivery Platforms, contextual applications and architectures for next-generation networks; and predictive analytics for business intelligence. His work has led to ten US patents (numerous pending grant) and 40+ research publications in premier journals and conferences; while receiving several awards including an IBM Research Division award for contributions to the IBM Telecom Service Delivery Platform. Koustuv holds a Ph.D. in Computer Science from the University of Maryland Baltimore County. Geetha Manjunath Research Lab Manager - Data Analytics Lab Geetha Manjunath joined Xerox in April 2013 with 23 years of research experience in the IT industry. She is the Lab Manager of the Data Analytics Lab at Xerox Research Centre India (XRCI) and leads a team of researchers to develop innovative solutions for transportation, healthcare and customer care with a particular focus on emerging markets. She also serves as the XIG Program Manager for Xerox Communications and Marketing Services. Before joining Xerox, Geetha was a Principal Research Scientist and Research Manager at Hewlett Packard Laboratories, India. At HP, she has proposed and led multiple research projects in crowdsourcing, cloud computing, data mining, semantic web, mobility, grid computing and compilers. Before her 16-year stint at HP, she was a senior technical member at the Center for Development of Advanced Computing (C-DAC), Bangalore where she was a proud member of the team that developed India’s first supercomputer, PARAM. Geetha’s research has resulted in innovative prototypes, patents, international publications, new product proposals and national awards. Her brainchild, SiteOnMobile was adjudged as the MIT TechReview Grand Challenge Winner in healthcare category and was tagged as an “HP Legend”. She was also awarded the NASCCOM IT Innovator in 2009. In the academic circles, she was awarded the TR Shammanna Best Student award in undergrad and the Computer Society of India gold medal in Master’s program. She holds a PhD degree from the Indian Institute of Science and is an author of a text book on cloud technologies titled “Moving to the Cloud,” Elsevier Syngress Publications, Dec 2011.. She holds 5 US patents with 20 more pending grant and is a member of the executive committee of the National Innovation Council for Cloud Computing India and a senior member of the IEEE. Mr K V Dipu Head of operations for SBI Card SBI is the credit card joint venture between two giants in financial services, namely, GE Capital and State Bank of India. A management graduate from the Indian Institute of Management, Lucknow, he joined GE Capital in 1996. During Mr Dipu’s distinguished career with GE Capital spanning over 18 years, he has handled multiple functions such as sales, product management, six sigma and operations. His forte is combining deep domain expertise with six sigma rigor to redesign the business model for operational excellence and customer delight. Under Mr Dipu’s leadership, SBI Card has launched several industry leading initiatives in the area of service operations. Mr Dipu is a certified lean six sigma black belt and a member of the Harvard Business Review Advisory Council, an opt-in research group of business professionals. Many of his accomplishments for SBI Card in service operations have received wide press coverage & recognition from the industry, the most recent one being the Award for Excellence in Customer Service at the Asia BPO Summit earlier this year.
