Sponsored by Medical Marvels LLC Seminar on new approaches in medical laser therapy - With special focus on laser therapy in combination with PRP and stem cells Presentation of worldwide innovation: First yellow laser in medical laser therapy April 25th 2015, 9:00 am – 5.30 pm, Florida (Address to be announced later) TOPICS: Basic principles of low intensity lasers Clinical studies and basic research ‘Laserneedles’ for pain management, rehabilitation and acupuncture Transcranial laser therapy of cerebral stroke and degenerative diseases Interstitial and intra-articular laser therapy in spine syndromes and osteoarthritis of knee and shoulder joints The method of intravenous laser blood irradiation and clinical applications Presentation of the first yellow laser worldwide (first clinical results) Photodynamic therapy: New approaches of cancer treatment with lasers and photosensitizers Laser therapy in combination with PRP Laser therapy in combination with modern stem cell procedures The Role of Nitric Oxide in Regenerative Medicine Practical exercises for laserneedle-, interstitial-, intra-articular and intravenous laser therapy Dear colleagues, The International Society for Medical Laser Applications (ISLA) and Medical Marvels LLC invite you to attend a seminar presenting the latest developments in German Multi-Laser and Systemic Laser Therapy. This newly developed and CE-, FDA- and Health-Canadaapproved technology delivers highly focused light from multiple lasers of different wavelengths. The use of different wavelengths (red, infrared, green, blue and yellow lasers) enables us to achieve different depths of penetration and leads to reparative effects of great variety in the tissue. In the first part of the seminar, Dr. Michael Weber from Germany will give an overview about the field of medical laser therapy: In external laser therapy, the multi-channel lasers are mainly used for treatment of pain, muscle spasm, joint osteoarthritis and spine syndromes. A high quality study about successful treatment of acute and chronic neck pain was recently published in “The Lancet”. The “Stroke” published results of big multi-center studies from the USA, revealing the enormous potential of transcranial near-infrared laser light in the posttreatment of stroke. The multiple “laserneedles” can be applied to all areas of pain or acupuncture points. Physicians appreciate this technology as a highly effective and pain-free therapy without any side-effects. The latest and most promising technique is a special catheter technology that enables the “interstitial” and “intra-articular” application of lasers. In this treatment, a fiberoptical needle is inserted into the tissue and the laser beam is applied close to the spot or area of injury. A study on 40 patients with chronic and resistant pain of spinal stenosis, knee and shoulder arthritis (published in June 2011 in Germany) showed excellent results in pain relief and a huge superiority in comparison to other methods. Furthermore, the method of intravenous laser therapy with multiple wavelengths (red, infrared, green, blue and yellow) is presented and the associated therapeutic options to strengthen general physical fitness and the immune system or to treat diseases like diabetes, chronic liver diseases, metabolism disorders, fibromyalgia, depression, CFS, cardiac diseases etc. are discussed. Finally, the very promising approach of photodynamic tumor therapy by intravenous, topical or interstitial stimulation of photosensitizers will be presented as well. For the second part of the seminar, we are proud to announce that the world-famous orthopedic stem cell expert Dr. Joseph Purita will give a lecture on the use of laser therapy in combination with PRP and modern stem cells procedures. The presentations will be followed by practical exercises with these new technologies. Best regards, Dr. Michael Weber, President of the International Society for Medical Laser Applications Speakers: Michael Weber, MD, President of the International Society for Medical Laser Applications (ISLA) Dr. Michael Weber has been a medical practitioner in Germany for more than 20 years and leader of three medical centers for general and internal medicine, medical laser therapy and cancer treatment. Furthermore he is a certified biochemist and medical doctor. He is engaged in research with many national and international institutions and universities. He is president of the International Society for Medical Laser Applications (ISLA) and editor in chief of the International Journal for Medical Laser Applications. He is also Co-editor of the German Journal “Pain and Acupuncture” and on the editorial board of “Medical Acupuncture”, the official journal of the American Association for Medical Acupuncture (AAMA). He is the organizer of annual international conferences on laser medicine at the University of Göttingen in Germany.
