FACUFACULTY DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM
Dr.B.L.Malleswari, Professor ECE Dept.
1) A two day workshop has been conducted from 4.1.13 to 5.1.13 on ‘ARM training
modules’ in GNITS (for women) for all faculty. Faculty members have attended from all the
departments namely ECE, EEE, ETM, CSE, IT and ICE. It was conducted to train the faculty
members in microcontrollers, so that the faculty can easily guide the students to complete their
mini and major projects. As the concepts of microcontroller are common to all above said
departments, this workshop was planned to conduct for faculty to help the students.
The objectives of the program are to emphasize ARM7 processor, Special Function
Registers, Implementing Digital I/O based applications with GPIO peripherals using switches
and hex keypads, Implementing UART Based Wired and wireless Applications using GSM,
GPS and RFID, Developing ADC interface and Development of industrial Process control
setup using sensors.
All these modules are covered in the workshop with hands on experience
2) A one day workshop has been conducted in GNITS (for women) for all faculty on
23.11.12 on ‘Recent standards and requirements to be fulfilled by engineering colleges to
perform as a best engineering college’ by Prof.P.G.Sastry, former principal of NIT, Warangal
and executive member for National Water Regulatory board. Faculty members (all teaching and
non-teaching) have attended from all the departments. It was conducted to impart knowledge to
the faculty members in various effective ways of teaching in view of best student outcome.
The main objective of the program is to emphasize on STUDENT OUTCOMESBASED ENGINEERING EDUCATION FOR ENHANCED EMPLOYABILITY. He also
emphasized on creating an environment in which many exciting, engaging, and empowering
engineering educational innovations can flourish and make a significant difference in educating
future engineers. He stressed on the importance of embracing the student involvement by the
faculty members through the use of cooperative learning. He has enlighten the importance of
pedagogical and education training t enhance the effectiveness of faculty in creating excitement
