Neither the NPS Area 13 Committee, Judges, Stewards or Assistants shall in any way be heldresponsible or accountable
for any theft, accident, injury, loss or damage (howsoever this may be caused) to any exhibit, person, animal, property,
vehicles brought on to the showground, any premises used in conjunction with, arising out of or attainable to the show. It
shall be a condition of entry that each entrant or spectator shall indemnify the show organisers and proprietors against
any legal proceedings arising from any accident or misdemeanor. NPS Area 13 is covered by Public Liability insurance.
Competitors should ensure that they hold adequate third party insurance cover in respect of any accident caused by
themselves, their family, or helpers, their vehicles or animals when on the showground.
The Judge's decision is final. The class ends when the judge dismisses the class.
Stallions and colts, 2 years old and over must be suitably bitted and must be in possession of a current NPS or
appropriate breed society license unless otherwise governed by their individual Breed Society.
In all cases, whips/canes must not exceed 30" in length.
Objections to be made in writing to the show secretary, together with a deposit of £40, within one hour of the disputed
event. If the objection is upheld the deposit will be forfeited.
Correctly secured current British Standard skull/riding hats must be worn at all times when mounted. Handlers of ponies
in the In Hand classes aged 14 years and under must wear correctly secured British Standard skull/riding hats.
If for any reason the show has to be cancelled; only half the entry fee will be refunded. In no other case will any entry fee be
refunded.
In all M & M classes, ridden and in hand, ponies must be shown as recommended by their breed society rules, and are
restricted to the heights laid down by their appropriate breed societies.
All exhibitors must be in control of their animals at all times and any animal considered to constitute a danger will be asked to
leave the showground immediately.
No telephone entries.
The show organisers reserve the right to refuse any entry without giving a reason.
The committee reserves the right to substitute judges without warning or amalgamate classes due to insufficient
entries in one class.
All dogs must be kept on leads.
Riders of stallions should be not less than 11 years of age at 1st January of the current year when riding small breeds, and
not less than 14 years of age when riding large breeds.
Handlers of stallions and colts must have attained their 14th birthday by 1st January of the current year.

The BSPS Olympia Heritage M&M Ridden Classes
Ponies owners & riders must be BSPS members before the date of the show to compete in the Olympia classes. Classes will be
judged under BSPS rules as per the 2014 BSPS rule and show hand book. Animals must be the correct height for the breed as
laid down in the individual breed standards.
The 1st and 2nd prize winners from each of the following classes will qualify for a se mi-final to be held at the BSPS Heritage
Championship Show at Arena UK 2014. (The qualification will NOT be passed down the line). These classes are also
qualifiers for the BSPS ‘Classic Security’ UK Ltd Challenge, the BSPS Premier League, the BSPS ‘Black Country Saddles’,
Best Rider and the BSPS Champion of Champions.
All ponies must be 4 years old and over. Riders any age.
Class 1 – Registered pure bred Dartmoor, Exmoor and Shetland
Class 2 - Registered pure bred Welsh Section A & B
Class 3 - Registered pure bred Welsh Section C

NPS M&M Open Ridden Winter Championship &P(UK) Kingsford M&M Ridden Pony Of The
Year Supreme Championship – Equifest Open Ridden Qualifier
Open to stallions, mares and geldings four years old or over which must be registered in the main body of their
respective Mountain & Moorland Stud Book. Rider any age except when riding stallions (See rule book).
Class 7 – Dartmoor, Exmoor, Shetland, Welsh A & B
Class 8 – Connemara, Dales, Fells, Highland, New Forest, Welsh C and D

The NPS M&M Ridden Silver Medal Rosette Championship Winners of classes 7,8, 27, 28 29 & 30 - this
Championship cannot take place until class 30 has finished -Mrs Jane Patteson
A Silver Medal rosette is offered by the NPS for the best registered pony owned by an NPS Qualifying or Life member in the
M&M ridden section. These classes are judged under the NPS rules. The rosette is only awarded when the owner of the
champion pony is a qualifying or life time member of the NPS. If the owner of the champion is not a member, the rosette may
be awarded to the reserve champion. If the champion pony has previously qualified it is still entitled to the Silver Medal
Rosette but the qualification card goes to the reserve champion pony, providing the owner of that pony is a member of the
NPS. The Silver Medal rosette and the qualification card can be awarded no lower than first reserve (third). Foals are not
eligible for Silver Medal Championships. Qualifiers are entitled to compete in the final of the Silver Medal Rosette
Championship to be held at the 2014 NPS Summer Championship show. – Membership cards must be presented in the ring to
receive the medal and/or qualification

The NPS M&M In Hand Silver Medal Rosette Championship -Mr Roger Hunt
The NPS Silver Medal Rosettes are only awarded when the owner of the champion pony is a qualifying or life member of the
NPS. The owner’s valid membership card must be in the rider’s/handler’s possession on entering the ring and be produced
immediately on request by either the judge or steward. If the owner of the champion is not a member, or the membership card
is not immediately produced, the rosette may be awarded to the reserve champion provided they have the required membership
card. If the champion pony has previously qualified it is still entitled to the Silver Medal Rosette but the qualification card
goes to the reserve champion pony, providing the owner of that pony is a member of the NPS. The Silver Medal rosette and
the qualification card can be awarded no lower than first reserve (third). Foals are not eligible for Silver Medal Championship.
NPS /Fodder Solutions British Isles Area In Hand Championship Judge:Mr Roger Hunt
The winning pony from each of theNPS in hand classes held at the show is eligible to go forward to this championship. There are no
specific registration criteria for ponies. The owner need not be an NPS member for the pony/horse to enter this competition or to
qualify for the final but will have to become a Full member to enter the final. The Supreme Champion and Reserve Supreme
Champion ponies at each NPS Area show qualify for the final at the NPS Summer Championship show. If the Supreme and/or
Reserve Supreme have already qualified then the qualification may go to the third place, but no lower.

Miniature Horse Classes RIHS Qualifier
These classes are affiliated to the British Miniature Horse Society (BMHS), all classes will be run under
their rules. Only registered horses owned by a BMHS member may enter. Owners, exhibitors and
handlers must be current members and have paid the appropriate BMHS 2014 Showing Levy. Horses to
report for measuring half an hour prior to class, unless a 2014 measurement card is held. Height limits for

Equifest Qualifier and Ponies UK Commanchee Ridden Qualifier for Supreme Summer Champs 2014
These classes are affiliated to the British Skewbald and Piebald Association and are qualifiers for The Royal International Horse Show
Hickstead Tuesday 29th July 2014. Classes will be judged under BSPA rules all horses/ponies must be registered and all owners and
riders BSPA members prior to the show. Rider age taken from 1st January in the current year. All stallions must be graded and licensed
with BSPA. No rider under 14 may exhibit a stallion in any class. Membership and qualification cards must be carried in the ring by
competitors and produced as required for inspection or signature. Failure to do so will mean disqualification. Spurs may NOT be worn
in any pony class. Ponies 153cms or under (Shetlands exempt) must possess a current JMB height certificate. All stallions must be in
possession of a BSPA stallion ID card which must be carried at ALL times and produced on request.
NO competitor/owner/horse may compete in this class or enter the ring without current 2014 membership of BSPA and a RIHS
qualification card.
Qualification: 1st place and the next unqualified competitor standing 2nd or 3rd qualify from each class. No competitor may qualify
from lower than 3rd place. Skewbald and Piebald horse/ponies ONLY.
Class 23 – Ridden Ponies not exceeding 153cms plaited (no spurs, Judge will not ride, display required, no leading reins)

Owners/Riders must be current P(UK) Annual/Senior/Junior Riders Club Members and the ponies currently registered
with P(UK) before the time of entry in order to compete in these classes. Open to M&M ridden stallion (intermediate
class only), mare or gelding. 4 years old and over, registered in their approved Pure Breed Society Stud Books of
Connemara, Dartmoor, Dales, Exmoor, Fells, Highland, New Forest, Shetland, Welsh A, B, C or D. The highest place
exhibit not already qualified within the first five will receive notification of their qualification for the RIHS Young Riders
M&M Ridden and P(UK) RIHS Amateur Riders M&M Finals at The RIHS Hickstead July 30th 2014.
Class 31 – P(UK) Intermediate M&M - stallion, mare or gelding. 4 years old and over, registered in their approved Pure
Breed Society Stud Books of Connemara, Dartmoor, Dales, Exmoor, Fells, Highland, New Forest, Shetland, Welsh A, B,
C or D. Rider not to have attained their 25th birthday before 1st January in the current year. (See rule 7 of the current
P(UK) Rule Book.)
Class 32 – P(UK) Large Breeds - mare or gelding. 4 years old and over, registered in their approved Pure Breed Society
Stud Books of Connemara, Dartmoor, Dales, Exmoor, Fells, Highland, New Forest, Shetland, Welsh A, B, C or D. Rider
not to have attained their 18th birthday before 1st January in the current year.
Class 33 – P(UK) Small Breeds - mare or gelding. 4 years old and over, registered in their approved Pure Breed Society

January in the current year.

P(UK) Amateur Final 2014 Qualifier
The Amateur Final is open to riders who for showing purposes have not engaged in a training programme for
riders/horses/ponies, livery, buying, selling or dealing of horses/ponies as a means of deriving a source of income since
1 August 2013. It is expected that exhibitors will enter into the true spirit of this competition and trainers and producers
must not entre the ring during the judging process. The directors reserve the right, in their absolute discretion, to refuse
an exhibitors entry should they be in contravention of this rule in the directors considered opinion.
Class 34 – M&M ridden stallion, mare or gelding. 4 years old and over, registered in their approved PureBreed Society
Stud Books of Connemara, Dartmoor, Dales, Exmoor, Fells, Highland, New Forest, Shetland, Welsh A, B, C or D rider

NPS/Checkleybank M&M Novice Leading Rein Winter Championship
Class 35-Novice M&MLead Rein, open to registered Dartmoor, Exmoor Shetland, New Forest and Welsh Section A
or B mares and geldings 4 years old or over not exceeding 122 cm. Pony not to have won a first prize in any leading rein
class. To be shown in a snaffle bit, the leading rein must be attached to the noseband only. The reins must go directly
from the bit to the rider’s hands. Riders must have attained their 3rd birthday but must not have attained their 9th
birthday (riders’ ages are as at 1st January in the current year).
NPS M&M Novice First Ridden Winter Championship
Class 36 -Open to registered Dartmoor, Exmoor, Shetland, New Forest, Welsh Section A or B, mares and geldings 4
years old or over not exceeding 128cms. Riders must have attained their 3rd birthday but not reached their 12th birthday
(riders’ ages are as at 1st January in the current year). Pony never to have won a first prize in any first ridden class.

approved Pure Breed Society Stud Books of Shetland, Dartmoor, Exmoor, New Forest, Welsh A and B. To be led
by an attendant and shown in a snaffle bridle. Lead Rein to be attached to the noseband only. Rider not to have
attained their 9th birthday before 1st January in the current year.
P(UK) Brineton M&M First Ridden Supreme Championship

member of the NPS for the pony to enter this competition. Riders may only ride one pony in each class. Riders any age

Class 44- Ponies exceeding 122cms not exceeding 133cms.
Class 45– Ponies exceeding 133cms not exceeding 143cms

NPS Mountain and Qualifying Rounds
These classes are judged under the Rules of the NPS. Ponies must be registered in the main body of their respective
Mountain & Moorland Stud Books. Part breds are not eligible.
Qualifying rounds for most NPS competitions are open to ponies owned by NPS members and non-members but
only ponies owned by adult qualifying or Life members are eligible to qualify for the final of the competition at the
NPS Spring Festival 2014. Non Members may qualify for the Spring Festival but they must become members
at time of entry to the final
The highest 3 placed ponies owned by an NPS member within the top 6 in each class will qualify for the
final. Only current NPS members are eligible to take Silver Medal rosettes and qualification.
The exception is the M&M Working Hunter Pony (RIHS) Championship. To enter any qualifying round for
this competition the owner must be a Qualifying or Life member of the NPS. Classes 39-46 the highes placed
pony owned by an NPS qualifying or life member qualifies for the Summer championships
This Show is affiliated to the British Show Pony Society ('B.S.P.S.'), and all persons entering, competing, showing or
otherwise taking part in B.S.P.S. classes, whether or not members of the B.S.P.S. are subject to constitution and Rules of
this society including the disciplinary procedures, and shall be deemed to have consented to the jurisdiction of this
society. In all classes affiliated to the BSPS, the BSPS Rules take precedence.
This Show is a qualifier for the 2014 B.S.P.S. Heritage Championships Show, to be held at Arena UK 2014. The 1st 2nd ,
3rd prizewinners in the following classes 1-6 will qualify provided the animal is registered in accordance with Rules 23
and 28 and ridden by a BSPS member.
The BSPS Premier League - This show is a qualifier for the “BSPS Premier League”, the 1st. 2nd. 3rd. & 4th placed ponies in
classes ……….
Qualification for P(UK) Supreme Summer Championships. 1st, 2nd & 3rd placed horses/ponies in each class will
qualify for the Ponies(UK) Supreme Summer Championships 2014 and P(UK) Winter Classic 2015 . Qualification will
pass no lower than 3rd place. Qualification is open to Members & Non-Members of Ponies Association (UK)
Once qualified if the owner is not a current “A” member, the rider/handler is not a current “A” or Junior/Senior riders
club member and/or the horse/pony is not currently registered with Ponies Association (UK), then they have to submit
their memberships/registrations in order to gain their entry into the final . Qualifications will be verified by the show
secretary when the results are sent into the Ponies Association (UK) office. Once owner, rider/handler, horse/pony are
registered entries must be made on the official Ponies Association (UK) Supreme Summer National Championship
Entry Form. Once published these can be obtained from the Ponies Association (UK) website or by sending an A5
SAE with large letter stamp to the Ponies Association (UK) office. All entries must be sent into the Ponies Association
(UK) office before the closing date for entries. Exhibitors however must be current members and their ponies
registered with Ponies Association UK in order to qualify for the RIHS Young Riders and Amateur Riders
This show is affiliated to Equifest, taking place at the East of England Showground on the 13th-17th August 2014.
The two highest exhibits not already qualified in each affiliated class will qualify
