Title: Bigger or Smaller Money Amounts

Learning Intentions: To learn value of money and order prices from smallest
to biggest and biggest to smallest.
Materials Needed: Play money, Maths books and objects to price
Lesson: Re-visit the ‘bigger and smaller’ lesson from yesterday then explain
we are doing the same sort of thing, but this time with money. They will
have to find an object in the classroom and give it a realistic price. They will
then have to decide which object costs more and which one costs less.
Success Criteria: When you can order the prices from smallest to biggest
and vise versa

Recognise, describe and order Australian coins according to their value

- Order money from smallest to biggest and biggest to smallest
Mathematics / Year 2 / Number and Algebra / Money and financial

Count and order small collections of Australian coins and notes according to
their value (ACMNA034)
- Counting collections of coins or notes to make up a particular value,
such as that shown on a price tag
