Obituary: Mary Josephine (Oddo) Ross
Dateline: Swanton, Vermont
Mary Josephine (Oddo) Ross, age 88 years, died
unexpectedly Wednesday evening October 15,
2014, at the Northwestern Medical Center in Saint
Albans, Vermont
Born in Norwalk, Ohio on May 23 1926, she was the
daughter of the late William H. and Nina
(Casablanca) Oddo. She attended the University of
California and in 1955, was married to Manuel Ross
who predeceased her in 1991.
A native of Norwalk, Ohio, Mary lived in New York
City beginning in the 1940's until the early 1950's.
She later moved to Los Angeles, California where
she resided until August of this year. Most recently
she was living with her nephew, Robert Oddo and his
family on Maquam Shore in the Town of Swanton,
Vermont
Mary was wonderful at customer relations and during her time in Los Angeles managed
the front of the house at several high end restaurants.
Survivors include her brother, Samuel Oddo of Delray Beach, FL; her sister, Caroline
Easton and her husband Dr. Allan Easton of Trophy Club, TX; nieces and nephews, Lillie
Easton, Robert Oddo and his wife Rhonda, William Oddo of Daingerfield, Texas; great
nieces and nephews, Vincent and Alexander Oddo, John Oddo and Faith Oddo of Texas
and cousins, Nina Krause and William Oddo.
In addition to her parents and her husband Manuel, Mary was predeceased by a sister,
Phyllis Ann Oddo in 1966; a brother William Joseph Oddo in 1971 and a sister-in-law,
Irene Oddo in August of this year.
The Liturgy of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday October 23, 2014, at 10 a.m.
from The Church of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary, 65 Canada Street, Swanton.
Father Luke P. Austin will be the celebrant and homilist. The Rite of Committal and
Interment will follow in Saint Mary's Roman Catholic Cemetery.
Friends may call at The Kidder Memorial Home, 89 Grand Avenue, Swanton on
Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m.
