So my West Coast Uncle. I found out that my grandfather was named Theodore. He had 2 sons
my dad William and Theodore. Ted died during the Korean conflict and had a son Thomas. My
cousin Tom has 1 son, Charlie. I'm still trying to track him down on that web. You may know
him. He and his dad live in the Dallas/Fort Worth area. Tom is a police officer and I'm not too
sure what Charlie does. I have a son named Theodore. Ironically he was born the year of my
divorce(92) and I had no say in his naming. I do not think to this day my ex knows that
Theodore is such a long standing family name. [facebook].

William born in Borchen,Hesse Germany April 9 1854, Died 1926 He married Christine
Bodtman born in Hesse August 26th 1857. They had 4 children. Theodore August,
Charles, Pauline and Tony.
My great grandfather was Theodore August born in NYC August 24th 1877 died in 1942. He
married Lucy Charlotte Gernandt who was born in Roch. NY Feb. 5th 1880 she live to
be 107 or so. They had 3 children. Theodore Fredrick 6/2/1904 died 9/71. This was my
grandfather. Charles Walter 1/20/12 and Erna Louise 8/16/15 who is still alive and
kicking in Florida. Theodore Fredrick had 3 kids. My dad William Edwin 9/7/31.
Theodore who died sometime during the Korean conflict. He had 1 son Thomas Edward
who lives in Texas with his son Charlie. And my Aunt Wilda who just turned 80. Now i
have the starting point in Hesse in 1854. I should be able to use your info to see my
other great uncles and aunts and their kids."

Trientje (Trintche) Tracy Witterhold, born in the Netherlands, in the province Groningen, married to Reinder
"Richard" Speelman.
Trientje's father was Nicolaas (or Niklaas) Witterholt or Widderholt, who's father was Jan Hindrik Nicolaas
Witterhold,
who's father was Nicolaas Jan Witterhold, married to Margien Hendriks Braak in the town Groningen, on the
date 23 October 1792.
Nicolaas Jans Witterholt was born in the year 1770
Do you know if he is a member of the family which is from your genealogy, because he is from Cassel, as the
To-be Marrige-book says.

So you see that the first ancestor of Trientje Witterholt that I could find, is from (as far as I
understand) a small village named Wartenhaus (or something like that), near Kassel (Hessen) in
Germany.

Nicolaas Jans Witterholt was born in the year 1770
1775-1802 Princess-Abbess Maria Maximiliana von Stadion of Buchau
(Germany) The last Sovereign Ruler of the Ecclesiastical Territory, she had been elected in
the third round of voting with the participation of 10 Ladies of the Chapter and 2 Canons
(Chorherren). Like that of her predecessor's her election took part without the participation
of the Bishop of Konstanz, and he protested at first but ended up inaugurating her. During
her reign she reached compromises with the neighbours, the Count von Hohenberg and
Prince zu Turn und Taxis, about some of the lands of the territory. During the end of her
reign, she was preoccupied with the financial strain caused by the Coalition Wars. In July
1802 she had to flee for the invading French forces, but later returned. Her and the other
families of the Ladies of the Chapter protested against the secularization and abolision of
the chapter and territory using the the argument that the territory was already secular and
not ecclesiastical. In the end Turn and Taxis took over the territory, and she moved to
München and lived there the rest of her life. She was daughter of Count Anton Heinrich
Friedrich von Stadion zu Thannhausen und Wartenhausen, Minister of the Elector
of Mainz, and Freiin Maria Anna Augusta Antonia von Sickingen-Hohenburg. Maria
Maximiliana Esther lived (1736-1818).
