This is a show open to all ridden horses and ponies. All mounts to be PLAITED please. Restricted horses and ponies are only eligible if the horse/pony has not won a champion in a restricted ring. NOVICE CLASSES – A Novice is a horse or pony which has 0-6 firsts in conformation classes including maiden classes at any A&P show, Pony Club Show or Riding Club Show, at the time of the Arion Riding Centre Championship Show 2014. Novice Horse/Ponies are eligible for Open Classes at the time of Arion Riding Centre Championship Show 2014. All horses / ponies must be shown in a snaffle bit- Unless entered in Open Classes where double bridles are acceptable. Entry fee $5.00 per class. Fees MUST accompany entries. There will be no refunds of entry fees except where Veterinary or Medical Certificate is received by Arion within 7 days then 75% of entry will be refunded. Age is at the date of the Arion Riding Centre Championship Show 2014. All riders 16 years and under must wear headgear at all times whilst mounted, conforming to the current NZ Safety Standards or an equivalent standard. All competitors ride at their own risk. No responsibility is taken for any damage or loss of personal property or accidents on the day. Ribbons will be rewarded at the judge’s discretion in all classes. Administration levy/medical and ground fee per Horse/Pony $15.00 Novice Champion 1st place getter and 2nd place getter to stand by for Novice Reserve Champion. Open Champion 1st place getter and 2nd place getter to stand by for Open Reserve Champion. Disciplinary action will be taken if any person purposely jabs a horse / pony in the mouth, or for excessive use of the whip, spurs or any other offensive behavior which is witnessed. The committee had the right to alter/delete/combine any classes, decline entries its sees fit and remove any Horse/Pony it considers dangerous. Only Horses/Ponies entered in the show are permitted on the grounds. No Horses/Ponies under 3yrs of age are permitted to enter in the ridden section All protests must be submitted no later than half and hour after the incident that gave rise to the protest and must be accompanied by a $20.00 deposit, refundable if the protest is sustained. Riders to be ready to enter ring before the start time. Classes will not be unduly held up where riders are competing in more than one ring. The sending of an entry denotes acceptance of the above conditions. DOGS are not permitted on the grounds. No stallions are permitted on the grounds 23. No back numbers will be given out, either use a number holder or a bridle attachment. Back numbers will be available on facebook or email arion@nta.co.nz from the 17th March. 24. Catalogues can be collected from the office from 7.30am onwards the morning of the show. 25. Riders in Pony sections must be 16 years and under. LEAD REIN RULES - (Open to Ponies not over 138cm. Pony must be over 5 years old) 26. Riders to be 4 years and not over 9 years at the date of the Arion Riding Centre Championship Show 2014. 27. Lead must be attached to a halter or noseband of a simple snaffle bridle. No Pelham’s or Kimble wicks allowed. 28. Spurs are not allowed. 29. Whips: If you must carry one. MUST be either a short cane or a 75cm whip (including a wide flapper) NO LONG or dressage whips allowed. 30. Ponies to be 138cm and under. 31. Handler must be 16yrs and over. 32. Combinations in this section not eligible to compete in any other section. 33. Conformation of the mount will be taken into consideration in this lead rein section. 34. Any lead rein pony MUST NOT BE RIDDEN off the lead at any time or will be disqualified. 35. Champion Lead Rein Pony is not eligible for Supreme Champion Class. 36. Riders entered in this ring are not eligible for any classes in the first ridden section. 37. May not enter any other section FIRST RIDDEN RULES - (Open to riders 10 yrs & under. Ponies not over 148cm and must be over 5yrs old.) 38. One adult per child to be available at the ringside, at all times. 39. Pony most suitable for riders competing in their first year off the lead. 40. Pony to be ridden in a snaffle bridle, no Pelham’s, Kimble wicks allowed. No dressage whips allowed. 41. Conformation of the mount will be considered. 42. Classes will not be asked to canter as a group, but riders will be asked to canter individually. 43. The Pony or Horse must not have been placed First, Second or Third at any A&P Show, Open Show or Open Pony Club Showing Class at the Mini Circuits within the last three years. The rider must not have been placed First, Second or Third at any A&P Show, or any Open Riding Classes at Horse or Pony Shows in the last twelve months. Tidy dress to be worn in the restricted classes. Jackets are optional. Mounts to be shown in a snaffle bit. All Champions in the restricted ring ARE NOT eligible for Supreme Champion Class.
