SAFETY EQUIPMENT:
Safety Glasses with side shields, hard hat, steel toe boots, FR Clothing, gloves, and personal
gas monitor.
PROCEDURE:
1. Plants, Satellites, Batteries:
• Clean up spills or leaks around machinery and equipment with rags or absorbent material.
Identify and ensure leaks are corrected. Report leaks to foreman and Safety
Representative. Spills over a certain quantity (depending on province or territory) are to be
reported and a Haltech Testing Inc. Incident Report is to be filled out.
• Dispose of rags in the proper designated container.
• Dispose of empty barrels in proper location for return.
• Ensure tools are clean after use and stored in their proper location.
• Ensure fire extinguishers, first aid kit and other safety equipment is at hand and operable.
• Debris is to be removed from sites and taken to proper landfill locations (consult with area
Haltech Testing Inc. environmental coordinator).
• Where security is an issue, doors and gates are to be locked.
• Drain and dispose of filters in proper designated container.
• Waste oils to be collected and disposed of in an approved manner.
• Safety signs should be visible on buildings.
• Garbage should be incinerated or properly stored so it does not attract bears (where
applicable).
• Ensure topsoil conservation, lease drainage and erosion are properly addressed.
• Ensure bone yard is kept tidy.
• Earthen pits are free of fluids.
• Loading areas have proper ground cables.
• Tank berms are adequate for containment and free of vegetation.
• Sewage effluent and waste waters are properly stored and disposed of.

Office:
Debris is to be removed from sites and taken to proper landfill locations.
Where security is an issue, doors and gates must be locked.
Food and other items which might attract mice should not be left out.
Computer equipment should be covered or out of sight when not in use.
Muddy footwear and oily coveralls should be left at the door.
Floors should be swept and the area generally dusted and cleaned when appropriate.
Paper work should be gathered and taken to area office for processing regularly.
Safety signs should be posted and MSDS available.
Warehouse or shop:
Debris is to be removed from sites and taken to proper landfill location.
Where security is an issue, doors and gates are to be locked.
Material returned should be secured in the proper location.
Material needing repair should be tagged and sent out for repair as soon as possible.
Incoming or outgoing material should have its own lay down area with material properly
marked for distribution.
Tools and equipment should be properly stored in a secure “Tool crib” or similar location
and be kept clean and ready for use.
Do no track mud on floor.
Oil and or water spills on the floor should be cleaned up immediately after such an
occurrence.
4. Yard:
• Debris is to be removed from sites and taken to proper landfill.
• Where security is an issue, doors and gates are to be locked.
• Crates, barrels and other packing materials should be gathered and properly disposed of.
• Vegetation and weeds should be tended to.
5. Vehicle:
• Vehicle should be kept clean as conditions permit.
• Inside truck should be orderly.
• Perform monthly vehicle inspections and report if applicable.
• Record mileage at appropriate times.
