Notes
These instructions pertain to the following instances of the Azaleos managed SharePoint 2010 farm
 UAT
 PROD
Each instance can have environment-specific steps. Where a step relates to a specific environment this
will be specified in the instruction; please be aware of these instructions and always note the environment
in which you are working when carrying out a step.
Prerequisites



This ACR should be executed under the local Farm Admin account.
This ACR assumes that all relevant SharePoint services are configured in the farm.
This ACR assumes that the SharePoint 14 hive BIN directory path (C:\Program Files\Common
Files\Microsoft Shared\Web Server Extensions\14\BIN\) is specified in the environment variable.
 Ensure that the following directories exist on the APP server; if they do not exist then create
them.
E:\Deployment\XKB\ACR98630
E:\Deployment\XKB\SupportACRS\ACR98630\Backup
 Extract all existing WSPs from the farm to the Backup folder by executing the following Power
Shell script.
Note: Please replace [Backup Folder Path] with backup folder path in the Power Shell script.

Please validate that all WSPs in the farm are copied to backup folder by navigating to the folder
and checking to see if there are wsps present there.

Installation Steps
1 Log on to the Application server of the relevant environment using the Farm Admin credentials of that
environment.
3.a Open an Internet Explorer browser window and navigate to the TFS (Team Foundation Server) page
below.

Retrieve the zip file located here named
ACR98630.zip
Download the.zip file and unpackage it at “E:\Deployment\XKB\ACR98630”
Note: There should be the following files present in the repository
1. DeployXKBApplicationAllWSPs.bat
2. additional batch files for each WSP

command
prompt
by
using
the
admin
privilege
and
navigate
to
“E:\Deployment\XKB\ACR98630”
Note: Increase the command prompt’s Screen Buffer Size to a very large value so that you will be able to
copy all the execution text of all WSPs in the notepad after the execution of batch file.

5 Enter DeployXKBApplicationAllWSPs.bat and click enter.
6. You will be prompted to provide the site collection URL. Enter the Site collection URL as per the
environment mentioned in the table below.

6. Expect the batch file to run up to 30 minutes.
7. When batch file is completed, please copy the execution text from the command prompt and save them
into a notepad file e.g. DeploymentLog.txt at “E:\Deployment\XKB\ACR98630”. Email this file to
ngcdev@xilinx.com
Notes:
 This file may contain text that appears to be errors. These are due to the fact that on a fresh
install, there are no features to uninstall.

Do not interrupt the process until it completes.
- No IIS Resets
- No App Pool resets
- Do not browse the XKB site
- Do not close the console application window
7 Execute
IISRESET on all WEB and APP Servers.
Note: Please also check that application pools for all web applications in the IIS on all servers are
started. If not, then restart them manually.
8. Browse to central administration site and click System Settings in the quick launch menu.
9. Click Farm Solutions under Farm Management.
10. On the Solution Management page, verify that all WSPs are deployed successfully.

b. De-activate this Feature and then re-activate it.

Delete all WSPs from the backup folder EXCEPT for those that exist in the ACR folder.
Copy the Existing .bat files from E:\Deployment\XKB\SupportACRS\ACR98630 to the
Backup folder
E:\Deployment\XKB\SupportACRS\ACR98630\Backup
Open command prompt by using the admin privilege and navigate to
E:\Deployment\XKB\SupportACRS\ACR98630\Backup
Execute steps 5 to 12 to deploy the Backup WSPs.
Note: In step 7, copy the DeploymentLog.txt at
“E:\Deployment\XKB\SupportACRS\ACR98630\Backup”.
Complete an iisreset on ALL farm servers
