Huntsman School’s Own Voted “Utah’s Most-Eligible
Bachelor” by Cosmopolitan Magazine
LOGAN, UT (November 14, 2011) -The Jon M. Huntsman School of Business now has the
opportunity to further round out the award variety its graduates have received as a former
Huntsman student was recently awarded “Utah’s Most-Eligible Bachelor” by Cosmopolitan
Magazine.
Chris Thompson, who graduated in 2009 with a bachelor’s degree in marketing, now works as a
retail store manager in Salt Lake City and expressed the disbelief he felt when being presented
with such an award.
“Someone from Cosmopolitan Magazine called me and told me I had been selected to represent
Utah in the contest,” Mr. Thompson said. “I thought it was a prank or some sort of modeling
scam at first, but after I got some more information I realized it was legitimate. I never would
have expected to be a part of something like this.”
When asked how his Huntsman School of Business education helped him prepare for this
occasion, Mr. Thompson stated that working on many group projects and doing presentations in
front of large classes definitely helped him feel more comfortable around people even though he
never saw himself receiving an award like this one.
“I was kind of a late bloomer,” Mr. Thompson said, “but have never seen myself as a top
bachelor. All the press coverage has been crazy, even after I agreed to do the contest and had the
photo shoot, I didn't think any local media would have any interest in me.”
Now that the contest has finished, what is on the horizon for Utah State’s own “Most-Eligible
Bachelor”?
“In 10-20 years I see myself having a great family and a successful business career,” he said. “I
would love to eventually get into marketing or advertising; I would especially love to do
something in sports marketing.”
Although the contest ended on Oct. 16 at 11:59 p.m., those interested in seeing Mr. Thompson’s
bachelor profile may visit here.
