Student Textbooks
Logging in at Home
1. Go to the PISD district website: www.pearlandisd.org to begin using the textbook. Click and open the tab labeled
Online Textbooks.
2. When you open the Online Textbooks, you will see the screen below. Use your child’s district username and password
to access the PISD virtual desktop.
3. You will see the screen below. You DO NOT need to agree or click install. Click the “Log On” icon at the bottom of the
page.
4. You will see the message below. Click okay.
5. You will then see the Middle School Virtual Desktop. Click the icon.
6. You will be taken to a desktop housing Online Textbooks. Be patient.
The first time you do this, it might take a few minutes.
7. The virtual desktop is pictured below. Accelerate Learning, your online
grade 5 science textbook, is the second link from the top.
8. Click and open the Accelerate Learning link. You will see the following page. Click and open Accelerate Learning.
9. When you open the Accelerate Learning link, you will see the name of your science teacher and the last name of your
home room teacher with HR behind the last name. You will also see two tabs: Active Assignments and Turned in
Assignments.

have things posted by your
teacher to help you with
additional activities.
