Mike Miles Superintendent of Schools Educating All Students For Success T. W. BROWNE MIDDLE SCHOOL “DEDICATION, HONOR, EXCELLENCE” August 13, 2013 Dear Parents/Guardians, My name is Clement Alexander and as the new principal at T.W. Browne Middle School, I am honored to have the opportunity to serve our proud community. The T.W. Browne Middle School staff members and I are committed to becoming a nationally recognized campus that encourages the development of the whole child through academic, artistic, athletic, technical, and culturally diverse enrichment opportunities. We are dedicated to preparing your scholar for high school, college, and career options. Our staff is eager to embark upon the school improvement your scholar deserves. According to an article in U.S. News and World Report’s 2011 Best Colleges, interpreting, drawing conclusions, use of complex texts/complicated reading, analytical thinking skills and critical thinking skills are important for college and career success. Technology integration is cited as an important tool that can be used to enhance learning. Our scholars must be committed to engaging in this rigorous learning. Scholars are expected to work hard, present work of high quality, display a character of virtue, and follow the Trojan Tradition (see attachment) at all times. Your support and involvement will be key in our school’s success. We ask that you encourage your scholar to put a high priority on education, ensure that your scholar completes all homework and special projects, monitor your scholar’s academic progress, contact the teachers as needed, and participate in campus parent organizations and activities. I look forward to working with you this school year as we ensure that every scholar is college and career ready. Sincerely, Clement Alexander, Jr. Principal T.W.
