They founded Books with No Bounds in an effort to collect and distribute books to the children and youth of the Nishnawbe Aski Nation - 49 remote communities in Northern Ontario. The Oakville community generously donated new and nearly new books which the girls catalogued and packaged with love and care. But the books needed to get the Thunder Bay in order to be distributed to the communities. Having worked with LiUNA (Labourers International Union of North America) on the Santa Claus Parade, I knew how involved they are in the community. I reached out to them and they came through in a big way. Not only did they donate $600 to help with the costs of delivering the books, but they arranged for a large pickup truck to drive 55 boxes of books from Oakville to Thunder Bay. This first shipment of books is being distributed to 24 fly-in communities by Wasaya Airline, and all money collected will be used to pay for the air freight.
