Active Travel Existing Routes Map Consultation – Questionnaire
Introduction
Act consultation – routes survey
Under the 2013 Active Travel (Wales) Act, Neath Port Talbot County Borough Council has published a map of the
walking and cycling routes in its area that can be used by people for everyday journeys. These journeys could be to
work, school, to see friends, or to the shops.
The aim of the Act is to make local services and facilities more easily accessible on foot or by bicycle, which are
often referred to as Active Travel. This can also include using a wheelchair or mobility scooter to get around.
The questions in this survey will help us to identify short journeys people currently make by walking and cycling,
and their views on the usefulness and quality of existing and potential new Active Travel routes.
Active Travel Routes Map
Please view the PDF maps of walking and cycling routes in and around Neath Port Talbot and use it to help you
answer some of the questions in this survey.
Please note that the maps only show walking and cycling routes that are considered suitable and appropriate for
active travel and connect everyday destinations. Some routes will have a condition statement, which explains any
issues with the route that need to be addressed.
Routes that were considered for active travel but are not of a standard suitable or appropriate for Active Travel are
not shown on the PDF map. If you wish to view these routes, they can be viewed on the Council’s Active Travel
web page or you can contact the Council at greener@npt.gov.uk.
