As the 2014-2015 school year quickly approaches, our teaching staff would like to extend a warm
welcome to another exciting year at Kuumba Academy! This year promises to be filled with many new
and creative learning experiences, which will include Reading, Math, Science, Social Studies, and Health
integrated with the Creative and Performing Arts.
Our wonderful team of teachers is looking forward to working with you and your child this year. We
know that together we can provide the best educational experience possible. In order to help prepare for a
great start, please provide the following supplies on the first day of school:

2nd- 7th grade students are given a Kuumba Student Planner. If your child loses their
planner, parents/guardians must purchase a Kuumba Student Planner @ $5.00.
Additional supplies will also be used for Arts Classes (Music, Visual Art, Dance and Library)
Donations of time and/or supplies are always appreciated. We will be also accepting donations of books,
supplies, and uniforms for those students in need. We are also in need of educational games, board games
and cards for indoor recess. Please bring any donated items to Kuumba Academy Charter School.
