JOB TITLE:
Instrument Trainer / Assessor
LOCATION:
ASET International Oil and Gas Training Academy, Aberdeen
LINE MANAGER:
Health & Safety and Training Manager
Key Objectives:
To Deliver Instrument Training Programmes to Awarding Body and Industry Standards.
To be fully compliant with all ASET and Nescol Human Resources and Health & Safety Procedures and
reporting.
Main Tasks:

Delivery of Instrument and related training programmes
To develop new Instrument courses including presentation and candidate handout materials
To ensure awarding body criteria are used for assessment
Assist in the verification process where appropriate
To keep up to date with changes to awarding bodies criteria and standards
Complete all relevant paperwork as laid down by Aset’ policy and procedures
To be responsible for ensuring that all trainees under his/her supervision comply with ASET and Nescol
Health & Safety Procedures.
h) To be responsible for the regular ongoing maintenance of Instrument training equipment, technology
and facilities.
i) To be an effective team player within the Aset trainer/ assessor role
j) To represent ASET in a professional and competent manner.
In carrying out the responsibilities of the post it is expected that the postholder will do so in accordance with ASET

PERSON SPECIFICATION
JOB TITLE:
Instrument Trainer Assessor
KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS
1. Good knowledge of Instrumentation operations and maintenance in either offshore or onshore environment
2. Working knowledge and understanding of Industrial Instrumentation equipment and systems
3. Working knowledge of safe systems of work and permit to work system.
4. Good interpersonal and communication skills
EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS
1. Minimum of five years industry Instrumentation work related experience
2. Appropriate technical Instrumentation or equivalent apprenticeship certificate
3. Good numeracy, literacy and computer skills
