Mexican government for land that was already settled.

Causes of the Texas Revolution
Instructions: Use Chapter 8 in your textbook to place the following events in
chronological order in the attached graphic organizer. Write each event next
to each corresponding year.
* Santa Anna creates a Centralist government and send more tropos
to Texas.
* Rebellions in Anahuac and Velasco erupt due to tensions caused
by the law of April 6, 1830.
* The United States government offers to buy Texas for $1million.
* Stephen F. Austin is arrested and imprisoned in Mexico because
Mexican officials believe he protested against Mexican authority.
* General Manuel de Mier y Teran travels to Texas to investigate and
recommends limited immigration from the United States to Texas. He
also suggests more Mexican colonists are needed in Texas.
* The Law of April 6, 1830 is enacted. This law prohibits the
immigration from the United States to Texas, prohibits new slaves in
Texas and increases taxes on imports from the United States.
