Module Aims:
To introduce 3rd philosophy and part-time students for the evening degree
to some critique of metaphysics, including those of Hume and AJ Ayer,
and to examine the shift in the approaches of such thinkers as Henri
Bergson, Levinas, Gabriel Marcel and Heidegger. The course aims to
build on the knowledge acquired by students in PH12 and to help them
appreciate how metaphysics came to be perceived by philosophers,
especially in the 20th and 21st centuries.
