Sports Marketing Plans week of March 28-April 1
Monday:
Watch Apprentice
Who were the strong players and who were the weak ones?
What did you think about this week’s assignment compared to the last two? Was this Marketing
assignment more challenging or less challenging?
Tuesday:
Opener: What does brand recognition mean to you?
Introduction of Chapter 7: power point
Students will write the definition for 8 definitions from chapter 7. These words are in blue
bolded letters throughout chapter 7.1
We will read together 7.1 discussing the highlights from the chapter.
Students will complete guided notes from 7.1 for a classwork grade
Wednesday:
Opener: What brand of shoes do you prefer, and what about that particular brand makes it the
best according to you?
Students will work with table partners to develop a product BRAND name. It can be any
product, but they are going to make up their OWN name and personalize it. They will then make
a plan how they would develop brand equity for this product; they will follow the three steps
outlined on page 145.
Students will share their products with the class and explain their brand equity plan.
Friday
Opener: Have you ever heard the term licensing agreement? If you have what does it mean, if
you haven’t what do you think it might mean?
We will divide the chapter among all the students in the classroom among table groups. They
will each be assigned a paragraph or two to read. They will write highlights from their assigned
paragraph. As a group we will discuss what they read.
Students will write down ONE vocabulary word from 7.2, and they complete guided reading 7.2
Thursday:
Students will go to the computer lab to research at least six product endorsements by sports
figures. They will separate the product companies into three categories: companies with no
sports connection, companies that have the same target market as the endorser, and companies
that are selling sports-related items. They will analyze their list and write paragraphs explaining
how each category of company may benefit from the endorsements.
Monday: Quiz on Chapter 7

Tuesday:
Begin discussion of Chapter 6.2
Students will each be assigned paragraphs to read. We will have literary circles and they will
explain the highlights from the paragraphs they just read. Students will turn in their highlights
from their assigned paragraph for a participation grade.
Students will fill in the Graphic Organizer from chapter 6.2. They will also answer guided notes
pg. 28 from work book to do. We will review them together as a group.
Students will answer on page 343 Review Facts and Ideas. They will do even numbered
questions 2-10. The will turn this for a classwork grade.
Wednesday:
Students will complete chapter summary questions at the end of the chapter and turn in for a
classwork grade. They will do the odd numbered questions, and turn in for a classwork grade.
Thursday:
Computer Project: Students will research articles on the Better Business Bureau and write
reviews on the articles. They will also go to the Ad Council website and read three campaign
articles; one from education, one from health and safety, and one from the community and write
a quick review on the articles that they read.
Friday:
Quiz on Chapter 6
